Dottie earned a full-ride to Furman University, where she won individually 5x, was a 3x All-American, and twice recognized as Furman Female Athlete of the Year. Dottie led the Furman Paladins to four NCAA National Championship appearances, and Dottie individually finished inside the Top-5 three of her four years, including a 2nd place finish in 1985. Following her amateur career, Dottie, had an amazing professional career with 17 wins and 2 majors, and six Solheium Cup appearances. Dottie, sometimes referred to as "Hot Pepper" was a dominant force for the US Solheim Cup team with a career 5-1 Singles record.
