During the battle, they fell into a fissure and were put into suspended animation by a radioactive pool. In 1941, soldiers were running maneuvers when vibrations from the modern cannons re-open the fissure. The Civil War soldiers were revived and told by the military that neither side won, but the Union of the Nation was preserved.
