Double Portion Inheritance: Child Discipline According to the Creator: Should Parents Spank? Part 2 (06/28/2012)
from Double Portion Inheritance · host Double Portion Inheritance
A disturbing trend that we are now witnessing among today’s children is a symptom described in the Bible which shows us that we are living in the “last days.” 2nd Timothy 3:1-3 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of Elohiym. Fifty years ago, children were not as disrespectful towards their parents and their elders as they are in today’s society. While there were many adults who were overly harsh and “authoritarian” towards children in times past, (even to the point of becoming abusive), today the pendulum has swung too far in the other direction. Because of society over-reacting to child abuse, we have thrown out the proverbial “baby with the bathwater” by not allowing biblical discipline in the form of spanking on the buttocks. As a result, children are becoming abusive towards their parents and teachers in school. There have even been many cases now of children killing their parents and teachers. This is what happens when people throw out our Creator’s instructions called “Towrah” and they instead implement their own ideas. Leviticus 19:32 You shall rise up before the gray haired (hoary head), and honour the face of the old man, and fear your Elohiym: I am YaHuWaH. Our society is to blame for the despicable behavior that we see today in many children. The so-called “experts” in Child Psychology have completely rejected the wisdom of our creator as they have successfully brain-washed us to believe that spanking children is “child abuse.” But just the opposite is true. Neglecting to spank our children (the biblical way) is child abuse. In fact we are told by our Creator that if we withhold the rod of correction from their bottoms, that we are showing that we “hate” our children! If we spank our children for willful disobedience and wrong attitudes we are actually delivering their souls from Hell: Proverbs 13:24 He that spares his rod hates his son: but he that loves him chastens him betimes (diligently). Proverbs 23: 13-14 Withhold not correction from the child: for if you beat (spank) him with the rod, he shall not die. You shall beat him with the rod, and shall deliver his soul from Hell. We are commanded by our creator to spank (beat) the bottoms of our children in order to drive out the foolishness or the “evil inclination” that is the heart of every human being. Taking away privileges or grounding children does not work! Only the “rod of correction” drives out the evil inclination from children: Proverbs 22:15 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. The Hebrew word for “rod” here is: #7626 Shebet: rod, staff, branch, offshoot, club, sceptre, staff, shaft of spear, dart, club (of shepherd’s implement). Contrary to popular belief, the rod is NOT a metaphor for the “Towrah” as some people try to purport. It is a literal branch from a tree. Sin was nailed to a tree and a tree is used to punish the sinful nature.
