Double Portion Inheritance: The Feast of Weeks & Circumcision of the Heart (05/16/2013)

Shabuwoth (Pentecost) is the day after the weekly Sabbath following the Feast of Unleavened Bread according to Leviticus 23:15. This means that Shabuwoth aka “The Feast of Weeks” will always fall on a Saturday Night at sundown (immediately following the weekly Sabbath), and it will continue all day on Sunday (the first day of the week). There has been an “age-old” controversy about when to begin counting the “weeks” leading up to Shabuwoth because of confusion about how to interpret Leviticus 23:15. Some people interpret this to mean the “annual Sabbath” called “The Feast of Unleavened Bread” while others interpret it to mean the weekly 7th-day Sabbath (Saturday). There is no way that Leviticus 23:15 could be talking about the annual Sabbath called “The Feast of Unleavened Bread,” because then we would have to count “seven annual Sabbaths” (Feasts of Unleavened Bread) which would take 7 years, before we could keep the 50th day of Shabuwoth or Pentecost! Let’s read it: Wayyiqra (Leviticus) 23:15 And you shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete. It is obvious that Leviticus 23:15 is talking about the weekly Sabbath, because we have to “count seven Sabbaths” (seven weeks) commencing immediately following the weekly “Sabbath.” But how do we know that this is speaking of the weekly Sabbath and not the annual Sabbath called “Unleavened Bread?” Well, here is how we can tell. Whenever the Towrah is speaking of the weekly Sabbath, it uses this word “Shabbath” which is #7676 in the Hebrew Concordance. But whenever the Towrah speaks about an annual Sabbath or a Feast Day, it uses the word “Shabbathown,” which is #7677. In Leviticus 23:15, this is speaking about the weekly “Shabbath” not a “Shabbathown.” Also, we know that Leviticus 23:15, is telling us to begin the count on the weekly Sabbath, because then Messiah would have resurrected two days after he died (on the 15th of Abib), instead of being in the heart of the earth days and three days and three nights according to Matthew 12:40. Additionally, the historic record of the Jewish Talmud, says that in the First Century, the Sadducees controlled the Temple and they determined that the High Priest would wave the sheaf offering of the first-fruits of the barley at the end of the weekly Sabbath. This is when Messiah resurrected (at the end of the weekly Sabbath). This is when he would have waved the “first-fruits” offering of the souls of men before the Heavenly Father according to Ephesians 4:9, Romans 8:23 & 1st Corinthians 15:20. Abraham received circumcision in his flesh AFTER HE HAD FAITH, as an outward sign of his faith in YaHuWaH. Outward circumcision merely served as a reminder of circumcision in the heart (Deuteronomy 10:16, 30:6, Jeremiah 4:4). No person was ever justified by keeping the Towrah (law).
