Double Trouble - Tragic Death of Jarmecca Yvonne Whitehead

Jarmecca Yvonne "Nikki" Whitehead was found dead in the bathroom of her Conyers, Georgia, home in 2010. She had been beaten with a vase and stabbed repeatedly. Her 16-year-old identical twin daughters, Jasmiyah and Tasmiyah, were arrested four months later and charged with murder. In 2014, both pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and were sentenced to 30 years in prison. The twins were initially raised by their great-grandmother and were honor roll students and Girl Scouts. In 2007, their mother requested custody of them but they clashed, resulting in counseling and juvenile court appearances. Whitehead regained custody on January 5, 2010, and was killed eight days later. Evidence implicated the twins, including bite marks attributed to wounds inflicted by their mother during the fight. The medical examiner called the killing a crime of passion and not likely to have been performed by a stranger.
