Doug Toombs '83 and John "Turk" Crosby'81 (Part 1 of 2) Put Longwood Baseball in National Spotlight

Former Longwood Baseball standouts, Doug Toombs and John "Turk" Crosby were featured in Faces in the Crowd in the June 9, 1980 edition of Sports Illustrated for leading NCAA DIII baseball in batting average and stolen bases, respectively.  Doug talks about hitting .565 as a freshman and Turk explains how he earned the title, The Surgeon of Steal. The guys also talk about the lack of stolen bases in amateur and professional baseball. This is the first episode of a two-part series.
