She earned her BA in Biology from Central Connecticut State University before earning a BS in Visual Science and Doctorate of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She also completed a Residency in Primary Care/Ocular Disease at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA.
