Dr Amanda Nickson - The Resilient Leader

Amanda chose to do social work as her profession as an extension of her Christian faith, being able to help and serve others at their point of need. She has worked in a variety of positions in government and non-government organisations, academia and private practice. She has also worked in a range of fields: community development, individual and family work, group work and community education covering issues as diverse as child protection, juvenile justice, adoptions, health, defence, homelessness, domestic violence, finance and refugees. She has also lectured in social work for 13 years at James Cook University, in Townsville.
