Dr. Ashley Jordan is the President and CEO for the African American Museum in Philadelphia (AAMP): (AAMP) is the first museum funded and built by a major U.S. city to preserve and interpret African American history and culture. The African American Museum in Philadelphia will host a series of events and excursions from August 19-23 as part of the annual conference for the Association of African American Museums (AAAM). Philadelphia was named the host city for this year’s conference, which will bring over 700 conference attendees together. The conference invites museum leaders, cultural workers, creatives, educators, and advocates from across the nation to come together for dynamic sessions, inspiring speakers, unique cultural experiences, and unforgettable receptions at some of Philadelphia's most iconic venues. The AAAM 2026 host committee is led by the African American Museum in Philadelphia and is chaired by Dr. Ashley Jordan, president and CEO for the African American Museum in Philadelphia. The host committee, which includes members from cultural institutions across the region, is responsible for planning and coordinating all evening receptions and weekend excursions, taking place during the conference. Dr. Jordan joined the show to discuss AAMP's series of events from Aug. 19th-23rd, including their 50th anniversary, and AAMP participating in the Association of African American Museums.
