Dr Bill Birnbauer Investigative Journalist & Academic - Graeme Kemlo

from Travel Writers Radio

Attending a 50+ year reunion of journalists from the Melbourne Herald – an evening paper no longer produced in Melbourne – was a great opportunity for Graeme Kemlo to catch up with colleagues he had not seen in some cases for decades. Over a beverage or two they reminisced about the glory days of The Herald, about having to produce four editions a day, of road trips they had taken covering everything from floods to bushfires. Graeme got chatting with Billl Birnbauer about studying journalism at university and he discovered Bill had established an investigative journalism newsroom during his time as a journalism lecturer at Monash University. Bill is a member of The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists and has a range of interviews with other investigative joiurnalists at democracywatchdogs.org
