My guest this evening was Dr. Craig Smith, the Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Columbia University. Dr. Smith oversees one of the most innovative surgery departments in the country. Tonight, he discussed advances in pancreatic surgery, cardiac surgery, and aortic surgery. A major focus of tonight's program was skin cancer - ultraviolet light is the cause of most skin cancers. Sunscreen, niacinamide, and not using tanning salons will markedly decrease skin cancer. Finally, we discussed methods of facial rejuvenation - both noninvasive and surgical.
