Dr Doom becomes The One Above All
from Cinema Hot Takes Hosted by Author Adidas Wilson
The episode summarizes the Marvel comic storyline Avengers: Children's Crusade, which explores the search for the Scarlet Witch and the origins of her reality-warping powers. The narrative follows Wiccan and Speed, members of the Young Avengers, as they discover they are likely the reincarnated sons of Wanda Maximoff. Their journey reveals that the devastating events of House of M were not entirely Wanda's fault, but rather the result of a "Life Force" entity and manipulation by Doctor Doom. Seeking to atone for her past, Wanda attempts to restore the mutant population’s abilities, only for Doctor Doom to briefly seize the god-like Life Force for himself. Although Doom claims he will use this power to transform the world into a utopia, his inherent arrogance leads to a violent confrontation with the Avengers and X-Men. Ultimately, the story recontextualizes Wanda's history while cementing the tragic destiny of Iron Lad and the enduring animosity between the mutant race and the Scarlet Witch.
