from The Braw and The Brave · host The Braw and The Brave

The Braw and The Brave is a podcast about people and their passions. Episode 169 is in conversation with Dr Iain MacRitchie the founder and chair of MCR Pathways, an inspiring school-based mentoring programme, which supports over 3000 disadvantaged young people across Scotland each week. In a previous life Iain advised over 100 businesses and acted as executive chairman/CEO in leading the transformation of 18 different companies. It was his leadership role of 3 failing care organisations, that inspired him to create MCR Pathways. Dedicating his time, energy and expertises into helping young people achieve their potential and not be defined by their postcode or circumstance, Iain is now a full-time volunteer to establish MCR Pathways nationally, hugely motivated by the difference the work is making to the lives of so many young people. Iain speaks openly and passionately about his journey towards creating this charitable organisation and the lessons learned along the way working with his team and MCR Pathways mentors to create a better future for more young people. He emphasises the importance of listening to young people and creating safe spaces to empower them to be more confident and proactive in going after what they want in life. An inspiring listen!
