As she grew up on the Standard American Diet, she began to learn about the plight of animals on factory farms, leading her to adopt a plant-based diet. Her goal was to recreate a traditional corned beef & make it from beets, chickpeas, tomatoes, & high protein wheat. She then produced her Corn’d Beef Reubans for Delis, Whole Foods, and Shark Tank. She then started making turkey and steak slices (coming soon).Alec Ford [28:26]He has more than 30 years of experience in the genomics, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries, leading him to join Karius in 2020 and push them into their next growth phase. Previously was CEO of Myriad Genetics, a molecular diagnostic company. There, he launched new products and scaled new business units. Also held leadership positions at Novartis, Sanofi-Aventis, Nektar Therapeutics, and PfizerKaren Blackwell [43:18]She is the founder and CEO of Sage & Alms™, a benefit corporation with the brands Kanda™ Chocolates and DewBurst™.
