Dr. Lou Catania - Past, Present and Future of Optometric Scope

Dr. Louis Catania is an internationally renowned lecturer on optometry’s role in diagnosis and treatment of anterior segment diseases. He was a Pennsylvania College of Optometry faculty member until 1995, serving as Associate Professor. Dr. Catania also directed the Center for Continuing and Post Graduate Education (now the Department of International and Continuing Education). As the first Director of the Center for International Studies, Dr. Catania played a pivotal role in expanding the College’s educational scope worldwide. He is the author of Primary Care of the Anterior Segment and an accompanying audio-visual series. Dr. Catania was named Alumnus of the Year in 1994. He has served as senior clinical consultant for Nicolitz Eye Consultants for the past 15 years.
