Dr. Mary VanHoy: Vision Care through a Multi-Senory Approach. August 8, 2023
from Patricia Lemer: The Autism Detective · host Patricia Lemer
Dr. Mary VanHoy is a veteran Indiana based optometrist with over 40 years clinical experience. In this episode, she describes the many tools in her tool chest for enhancing the lives of those on the spectrum. Her practice includes combining visual, auditory, and vestibular processing. In addition to her extensive battery of specialty tests, she also offers functional visual field studies to rule out non-pathological constrictions in the visual fields (tunnel vision) due to sensory overload or visual stress. If the functional visual fields are found to be constricted, Optometric Syntonic Phototherapy will be included in the patient's treatment plan. Mary was a member of a team working with young adults with disabilities in Kuwait from 2012-2016. She has recently moved from a brick and mortar office to a mobile EyeVan. www.Eyes4Wellness.com
