Dr. Melissa Bird Discusses How Healthy Primaries Allow the People to Have a Voice

from Walter Rhein Podcast · host Walter Rhein

Hello Everyone! This is the second time I’ve had the privilege of talking with Dr. Melissa Bird. She joined me, Margaret Williams, MS, ACC and Nick Paro to discuss her recent congressional campaign. Although she didn’t win her primary, she earned over 20% (and counting) of the vote. That 20+% represents a huge amount of power. Those are people who trust Dr. Bird and who will listen to her endorsement. Therefore, it behooves the nominee to listen to what they expect of their representative. It’s also something to build on. Dr. Bird did this with no media support other than from podcasts like mine. Although I’m sad that she didn’t win the nomination, it’s important to recognize how much we did accomplish. There are always more elections, and I know that Nick, Margaret, and I will do everything we can to elevate the platforms of compassionate and courageous people like Dr. Bird! Also, Dr. Bird recommended the following book (not an Amazon link):The Rediscovery of AmericaWe’ll be talking again! People like Dr. Bird give me hope for the future!Thank you Jason Odell, A. Eevie Bateman, Beth Cruz, Dr. Eric Lullove, LeftieProf, and many others for tuning into my live video with Margaret Williams, MS, ACC and Nick Paro! Join me for my next live video in the app. Thanks for your support: 30% off 💙 40% off 💙 50% off 💙 60% offI'd Rather Be Writing is a reader-supported publication.
