Dr Zuleyha Keskin on Inner Peace & the Power of Dua

How do you find peace in the "in between" moments when the dua you have been asking for hasn't arrived yet?Dr Zuleyha Keskin, the Associate Head of School at the Centre for Islamic Studies and Civilisation, Charles Sturt University and a lecturer in Islamic spirituality + co-founder of ISRA Academy discusses lessons from the movie, the Karate Kid when it feels like you're in a season of life where life is full of monotonous tasks and all you want to do is be "somewhere else". She shared stories from her younger years and her father's role in guiding aspects of her career trajectory. Completing her PhD on the topic of “Attaining Inner Peace in Islam” her research in the field led to the development of the Graduate Certificate in Islamic Psychology through Charles Sturt University. Dr Zuleyha shared her own "Truth is Calling" moment when she experienced an opportunity to pivot when things "didn't go to plan" in her previous career as a pharmacist. Dr Zuleyha shared her own process driven way of chipping away at things and what everyday life looks like as an academic, juggling teaching, marketing, community work, supervision of PhD students and being responsible for setting the culture in the workplace as part of the leadership team.
