Draft Profile - Jacob Van Rooyen
from The Footy Yarn Hosted by The Footy Yarn
Ahead of the draft, some of the local talent vying to get picked up join me in the studio to discuss their year and look ahead to the draft. Claremont's Jacob Van Rooyen is the stand out genuine Swing-Man of this years draft. Plying his trade as a key forward or back, Jacob kicked 34 goals in just 9 games of WAFL Colt's footy as he began the season in the clubs League side despite battling Glandular Fever. He stood out as a defender in the state series against South Australia, alerting clubs of his ability to play at the highest level at either end of the ground, making him a valuable asset and putting him in first round contention for the draft. If you want to see more of Jacob or any of this years draft class, check us out on YouTube under The Footy Yarn where you can watch our Road To The Draft series, where I go head to head with all of WA's top draft prospects out on the footy field.
