Today, we're continuing our discussion about contracts and what you need to do when you're drafting your first contract.

In this episode, which is Part 4 of the Contracts Series, we'll be revisiting a handful of foundational considerations you need to remember when you're building your contractual relationships with others. In addition, we're:

  • Exploring the most important factors of what the IRS looks for when it weighs whether you're an employee or a contractor
  • Discussing an introduction to the concept of Work Made for Hire, based on the US Copyright Office's Circular 30, which was revised in 2021 (link below)
  • Outlining key considerations of how to clarify the scope of your work in your contract, and even more importantly, how much detail is too much detail
  • Creating space to discuss streamlining the drafting of proposals - including for your services, pricing, and scope of work - and ensuring you don't make the one HUGE mistake I see people make all the time in their proposals

I will also be giving you a list of the sections that should 100% be in your contract, so be ready with pen and paper!

At the end, as always, I leave you with a bit of homework to start taking action today. Y'all ready? Let's do this!
