Abraham Lincoln once said, the best way to predict your future is to, what do you think? I think it's create it. And I kind of have to agree. You know, it's Monday.
Why don't we create something? What do you think? What do you think? New beginnings.
That's what we're going to talk about today is new beginnings. There's always something new to do, no matter what part of your life we're talking about. Lately, just lately, I've been very active with our technology club, and I'm enjoying the hell out of that. That's kind of a new beginning.
I was always somewhat active, but now I'm getting very active with that. I'm getting very active with podcasting. As a matter of fact, I'm working on a one-day, probably two-hour class at the most, and it'll just cover one section of podcasting, and we'll try that and see if anybody comes. You know, we're going to do it live at the club.
We'll raise the flagpole, as they say, and see if anyone salutes. If you have a story about new beginnings, feel free to email to me. I'm michaelkros at gmail.com, and you know, that would be a good thing to do. I would like that.
There's always new beginnings. Let me tell you about some of the new beginnings that have been happening in my life. What is it now? Four or five months ago, my son and his girlfriend moved in with me.
I live in a three-bedroom, two-bath house. I've lived here by myself with my two cats. I didn't realize how lonely I was. I was lonely.
They're now living here, and people say, well, how's that going for you? How's that? Lovely. I absolutely love having them here.
I can have wonderful discussions with them. I can talk about gardening with her. She just absolutely loves gardening. He's been on my show.
He's been in here doing the podcast thing with me, and it is just a fun and exciting thing to do. It really is. We have had such a good thing going. That was a new beginning.
I'm liking that a lot. I'm thinking of starting a new podcast. Let me tell you what happened. About a week ago, maybe a week and a half ago now, I was sound asleep in my bed.
I was snuggling up to my pillows. I felt so good. I was sleeping so well, and I woke up, and I said, holy shit, what a great idea I just had for a podcast, and I'm sitting there saying, I came up with the best idea in the world for a once-a-week podcast. I absolutely, and it starts with what the hell.
That's what I remember. Now, I have this little tiny notebook on my nightstand with a pen attached to it. Do you think I grabbed that thing and wrote it down? Because it was a fabulous idea.
I was just sitting there saying, this is just so damn, does it come back to me? No, because I didn't write it down, and I've been batting my head against the law. I'm just trying to figure out what that good idea was, but I think I want to do a weekly podcast where I interview somebody, but I don't exactly know what that's going to entail or what that's going to be about, and I've got all the equipment here to do it. I have all of the technology.
I have the technology. I have all of that happening. What the hell? Blank, blank, blank, blank, blank.
What a good idea for a podcast, as I recall, but I don't remember what came after what the hell, and it's bothering the crap out of me. I keep throwing all these things down. I ask Zach. I ask my favorite ex-wife.
I'm thinking about asking the other ex-wives. Well, maybe one of them, ex-wife number one. I might ask her. She might have a good idea.
I might ask my friend, Gary Craddock. Gary's good at stuff like that. He was a couple years behind me in school. Good guy.
Yeah, good guy. I knew a couple of his brothers and his sister, but yeah, and I know Gary now. We have breakfast two or three times a year. A bunch of us do from the high school.
It's about time to do that again. One of our good friends that was part of the group just got out of the hospital after having a rather serious surgery, so we're going to let him heal up a little bit. Then we're going to drag his ass out and have breakfast at Dunyton Lane's. We always seem to go to Dunyton Lane's to have breakfast.
I don't know why. A brand new restaurant there now called The Kitchen. Anyway, that's my brave new idea, is starting a new podcast, and I think it's going to be good, but I need your help. What the hell?
Blank, blank, blank. Do you think you can help me with this? Do you think you can help me pull this off? It was such a good idea.
I had another good idea, but it kind of waned. I didn't like it. I actually wrote that one down, and while it made me happy for a day or so, it didn't stick, but this one. Oh, this one was so good.
I should call my daughter and ask her. I think I'll do that. She's going to say, why didn't you write it down, Dad? Why didn't you write it down?
Damn it. Oh, well. We'll see you tomorrow on Tuesday, which will be Techie Tuesday. Why not?
We'll see you tomorrow on Tuesday.
