Dream Again

(2 Timothy 1:12) “I am suffering…Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.”   The “I Know” of Dreaming Again:   1. I know that God loves me. (Lamentations 3:21-23) “Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the LORDʼs great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” 2. I know that God wants the best for me. (2 Corinthians 1:20) “For no matter how many promises God has made they are yes in Christ.” (Matthew 7:11) “If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” 3. I know that God has a plan for me. (2 Corinthians 4:16-17) “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. And I hold the keys of death and the grave.”   What dream has died within you?    Title of Message:  Dream Again   Any dream that doesn’t honor God is a nightmare.    (Genesis 37:5, 19-20) Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more. “Here comes that dreamer!” they said to each other. “Come now, let’s kill him and throw him into one of these cisterns and say that a ferocious animal devoured him. Then we’ll see what comes of his dreams.”   (Genesis 37:23-24) So when Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped him of his robe--the richly ornamented robe he was wearing--and they took him and threw him into the cistern. Now the cistern was empty; there was no water in it.   (Genesis 39:2) The LORD was with Joseph and he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. (Genesis 39:6-9) Now Joseph was well-built and handsome, and after a while his master’s wife took notice of Joseph and said, “Come to bed with me!” But he refused. “With me in charge,” he told her, “my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care. No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?”   (Genesis 39:21-23) The LORD was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden. So the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there. The warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph’s care, because the LORD was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did.”   Signs of a Dream Come True: 1.    The dream starts off bad.   2.    The dream takes a wrong turn.   3.    The dream makes you want to give up. (James 1:2-5) “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 4.    I know that God will bring me through.   (2 Timothy 4:18) “The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”   (Philippians 1:6 NAS) “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”
