Dream Catchers - ABUSE BY AGENCIES providing services for people with disabilities - LesPaul Morgan Tonight I want to talk about how over the many years I have been involved in the disability rights movement I have seen far too many bad things happen to people who have gone to their local disability board or agency only to discover that the agency and its employees have a very bad holeyer than thou attitude and could care less about helping anyone other than themselves and that’s a cold hard fact!!! Simple Definition of holier–than–thou: having or showing the annoying attitude of people who believe that they are morally better than other people. I would like us the survivors to start being more Independent by taking charge of our Destiney by holding the staff, Managers, and agencies more accountable by making sure that they are serving US the people with disabilities by using a new were no gone take it any more approach using the civil rights movement and the Americans with Disabilities Act to push out the bad and bring in the good! If an agency doesn’t employee people with disabilities they shouldn’t have the right to 501c3 status in my opinion. Centers for Independent Living have to employ a minimum of 51% people with disabilities so people with disabilities always are the majority! So tonight I would like too hear from you! The Call In no. is 424-243-9540 1. holier–than–thou: 2. Non Profit agency watch 3. be careful who you give your Information too 4. Survivors taking control 5. Researching the agencies that provide services 6. A new way of life 7. Mentoring others to carry on the momentum 8. Survivors paying it forward
