In this episode of The Moviegoers Society, Sean Tajipour, the Mayor of Nerdtropolis, and Drew Munhausen, the Professional Media and Movie Mastermind, break down two very different films: Hayao Miyazaki’s The Boy and the Heron and Dream Scenario starring Nicolas Cage. Sean and Drew start with Dream Scenario, diving into the film’s strange and fascinating premise, Nicolas Cage’s standout performance, and how the story explores fame, internet culture, and the bizarre nature of modern celebrity. They discuss the movie’s dark humor, its surreal tone, and whether the concept sticks the landing. Then they shift into The Boy and the Heron, reflecting on Miyazaki’s stunning animation, layered storytelling, and the emotional themes that run through the film. They talk about how the movie fits within the legendary filmmaker’s body of work and why it feels like such a personal and powerful cinematic experience. 📽 Follow us on Letterboxd: https://letterboxd.com/dmunhausen/ https://letterboxd.com/nerdtropolis/ 📲 Stay connected: Facebook: https://www.Facebook.com/nerdtropolis Instagram: https://www.Instagram.com/nerdtropolis Twitter: https://www.Twitter.com/nerdtropolis TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@nerdtropolis
