Drew Allar's Expectations At Penn State In 2023 And Beyond | Penn State Football Spring Practice

Former 5-star now projected starting quarterback Drew Allar has a lot of questions surrounding him. Can he be the Big Ten's best quarterback? Will his arm or legs be more of a threat? How will he handle Big Ten defenses? Will he be another Sean Clifford? The questions surrounding him are as numerous as the ones surrounding the rest of the Nittany Lion football team. No one will know how good Allar is until he plays a few games, but I would err on the side of caution when it comes to Drew Allar's elite potential. There is no question about his good supporting cast, especially when it comes to great protection by tackle Olu Fashanu, and an elite run game presented by runningbacks Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen. However, what remains to be seen, and is a huge source of my own personal doubt, is how he will do against Michigan and Ohio State both in 2023 and 2024. If Penn State cannot develop Allar, who had Josh Allen comparisons out of high school, that directly leads to James Franklin. If Allar is to live up to the media hype, then Penn State should be in the playoffs once in 2023, 2024, or 2025.
