Drew Surges Leads With Heart and Voice | Iowa State Cyclones Basketball News

Drew Surges is turning up the volume—both on and off the field—as Iowa State’s safety embraces a bold leadership role this season. Once quiet, he’s now a vocal force in practices and meetings, channeling his energy into driving intensity for the safeties room. Beyond football, he finds deep meaning in Victory Day, where he connects with families of children with disabilities, bringing joy through play and unforgettable smiles. Coaches like new safeties coach Pete Menage saw his potential early, naming him a leader before the season even began. Despite past injuries, Surges is focused on maximizing every day, building on last year’s 26 tackles, fumble recovery, and interception—all while leading by example and lifting his teammates.
