Clinical nephrology has greatly advanced since this discovery with renal replacement and dialysis. This leads to the topic of different types of dialysis. Dr. Panse explains the three types of dialysis, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and kidney transplantation. He also explains when renal replacement is necessary for a patient. It is possible for a woman to become pregnant during dialysis, but Dr. Panse says it is imperative to speak with your physicians when thinking of becoming pregnant due to some medications and the risks. Dr. Sogade begins the conversation of the kidney black market and trafficking. Dr. Panse answers the question: Why is the kidney the most trafficked organ?
