Driving Miss Daisy

Sometimes the most meaningful friendships are the ones you never see coming. This week on Reel Sisters Rewind, sisters Amanda Stephens and Missy Washam revisit the Oscar-winning classic Driving Miss Daisy. In this episode, they rewind the touching story of Miss Daisy Werthan and Hoke Colburn, whose unlikely relationship grows over twenty-five years against the backdrop of a changing South. What begins as a reluctant arrangement slowly becomes a friendship built on trust, respect, humor, and quiet acts of kindness. Amanda and Missy explore the unforgettable performances by Jessica Tandy, Morgan Freeman, and Dan Aykroyd, share behind-the-scenes trivia, and discuss why this timeless film continues to resonate with audiences decades later. They also reflect on the movie's powerful themes of friendship, dignity, prejudice, and the relationships that can change us in unexpected ways. Whether you're revisiting this award-winning classic or watching it for the very first time, this episode is a heartfelt rewind into one of the most memorable films of the 80s.
