There are nearly 26 million drones in total. Only about a million drones are registered. 25 million drones remain unregistered. Most drones are relatively new and prone to crashing. Information can be readily obtained from most drones. Drones present a danger to helicopters and low-flying aircraft. The risk associated with drones is expected to increase. Unregistered drones complicate aviation safety. The technology surrounding drones is rapidly evolving. Regulatory measures are needed to address drone safety.
