Thanks for tuning in to the Armor Men’s Health Hour Podcast today, where we bring you the latest and greatest in urology care and the best urology humor out there. In this segment, Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee are joined by NAU Urology Specialists' partner Dr. Lucas Jacomides. Today's topic is kidney stones: why they're more common in the summer time as well as how to prevent them, how they form, and how they are treated. While kidney stones can form any time of year, the dehydration associated with hot weather makes summer a prime time for kidney stones to be passed. Believe it or not, frequent stone-formers should be passing 2 to 3 liters of urine per day to prevent stones from enlarging and causing additional problems. Importantly, you should go to the emergency room if you think you're passing a kidney stone and you have a fever or a urinary tract infection. If you don't have a fever or infection, you can call NAU Urology Specialists and request an appointment. If you enjoyed today’s episode, don’t forget to like, subscribe, and share us with a friend!
