Drop That Feeding Bottle (Part 3)!

The contrasting catch phrase, "...but when I became a man, I put away childish things" (1 Cor. 13: 11) sums up the idea of this text. Responsible adults know when to make that important switch! Now, observe the first person singular, "I" in that statement? It indicates nobody would make that decision for you. Being an adult in this context is not measured by age but by the things you're willing to put away because you've outgrown them or they no longer serve a useful purpose. Get a grip on your finances and spending pattern; cutdown waste and unnecessary expense. Childishness is when you've an overblotted budget that you can't finance or sustain; childishness is when you over-price your worth, then under-deliver. Align with things that further your successes in your assignment. It's childish when you can't set your priorities right, it's worse off when you're plagued by indecision and procrastination. Be real to yourself. Do a thorough self-examination. List out some childish things you've done in the past or still do that has no bearing or value to the person you should've become if you acted differently. If you truly love yourself and are governed by principles, you'd put them away as they are no longer fashionable, same way it'd be absurd to find a fully grown adult eating from a feeding bottle! The intentionality and will to effect drastic positive changes are hallmarks of maturity.
