As WFMZ-TV reported on Monday, 42-year-old LaTarsha Brown is facing multiple charges after calling the Allentown Police Department (APD) earlier this year to report a supposed race crime. Brown works as an employee at Allentown City Hall and is a member of the Allentown School Board. According to a police affidavit obtained by the news outlet, Brown claimed that on January 10, an unknown individual planted an item resembling a noose on her work desk. Four days later, she came down to the police station for questioning. WFMZ-TV reported: According to the affidavit, Brown stated that at around 7 a.m. on Jan. 10, she began checking her email when she found a small item on her desk that she didn’t recognize.Police say that Brown picked up the item and sent pictures to coworkers, sharing what she found. At around 7:30, police say Brown then sent a six-paragraph email to several people, including her bosses and human resources.Allentown Police crime scene unit officers then responded to Brown’s office and collected the item as evidence, according to the affidavit.A search warrant was later obtained for Brown’s DNA, and her DNA samples were turned over to the Pennsylvania State Police Bethlehem Crime Lab to be analyzed against the evidence. WFMZ-TV then revealed that a DNA analysis concluded that Brown’s DNA was a match for samples taken from the noose. Moreover, nine employees who worked on the same floor as Brown were interviewed and DNA tested between January 13 and January 29.
