Dr. Dot. The daily five minute skill devotion. For everyone who is simply dotting about Alexa.
Hey guys, you can set up routines by voice. Hopefully you guys have played with routines in the settings section in the ALAD app. Now you can set up simple ones by voice. Alexa, when I say let's get cracking, play workout music.
Great. I created your routine. When you say let's get cracking, then I will play your music. Change it anytime in the routines section of the Alexa app.
Alexa, let's get cracking. Now you can chain several things together so you could say something like... Alexa, when I say rise and shine, turn on the bedroom lights and play my morning music. Great.
I created your routine. When you say rise and shine, first I will turn on bedroom. And then I will play your music. Change it anytime in the routines section of the Alexa app.
There you go. And obviously that's music but it could be a radio station or Spotify or Apple Music, Apple Podcasts even. All that kind of thing. So you can chain several things together and set up a more complicated routine by voice.
There are some things that you can't do by voice that you can with routines. And one of those is starting skills. So for example, Alexa, when I say I want to do a quick workout, open the 7-minute workout skill. I am having trouble creating your routine.
Try setting it up in the ALAD app to see what's possible. There you go. She wants you to do some things through the app. This is Robin signing off.
Enjoy playing with routines and we'll speak soon. Feedback comments demos. The.dot. podcast at gmail.com.
