Dr. Dot. The daily five minute skill devotion. For everyone who's simply dotting about an answer.

Hey guys, Robin here today we are going to look at a skill called Mindscape. We covered it last over 500 episodes ago and it can help you with specific sources of stress. You can do breathing exercises. It can help you unwind with some soothing soundscapes.

Let's give it a go. I like it. So open Mindscape. Okay, here's Mindscape.

Hello and welcome back. I'm here to help. However, Mindscape is not a substitute for professional medical advice. So let's start with our breathing exercise.

Breathing in as I count to three and breathing out as I count to four. Get ready to inhale for three counts. One, two, three and hold. And exhale four.

One, two, three and four. Great. And a second time. Inhale four, one, two, three and hold.

And exhale four, one, two, three and four. Last time. Inhale for one, two, three and hold. And exhale for one, two, three and four.

I hope that breathing exercise has helped. Taking deeper, slower breaths can help us feel calmer and more in control. Would you like to begin with another breathing exercise? Start talking about how you feel or listen to a soundscape we've created together before.

Talking about how I feel. Okay, let's move on. To do the breathing exercise again at any time while we're talking, just say, Alexa, breathe. So now we're going to talk together about how you're feeling.

I'll then create a soundscape for you to listen to and enjoy at the end. So let's get started. Is there something in particular that's worrying you? Or perhaps making you feel stressed or anxious today?

Work. You've told me you're worried about something to do with work. There are many things that can cause a stress in the workplace, but trying to identify what is causing you to worry is an important step. Is your workload causing you concern?

Yes. Try speaking about it with your colleague or manager. They may be able to make positive changes. Everyone needs help from time to time, so discuss setting realistic targets and see if there is a way to solve any problems you might be encountering.

Give each task your full attention. It often takes longer if you try and do too much at the same time. And be kind to yourself. Reward yourself for your achievements and forgive yourself when you feel you've made a mistake.

If you feel yourself becoming anxious, try breathing deeply, inhaling for three counts. Holding. And then exhaling for four counts. Would you like to improve your work-life balance?

No. Would you like to continue talking about work? No. Let's get a soundscape.

Okay, so is the next step in our journey to help you feel better about your work concerns. I'm going to prepare a soundscape for you to listen to. What type of sounds would you like today? Something relaxing, something feel good and motivating, or perhaps you're trying to sleep.

If you're not sure, that's okay. Just say not sure. Motivating. Right, I've created a soundscape specially to help you feel good and be motivated this Monday morning.

Okay. Thank you for talking with me about how you're feeling today. I hope you enjoy listening to your soundscape. And remember, I'm here whenever you'd like to come back.

Really? Robin, here is your reminder. Jump on management call. Oh no, okay guys.

Robin, please don't remind me. Hello. Hello. Is it up?

That broke the... Isn't that ironic that, er... A demo about stress at work was interrupted by a reminder about a management call that is Robin signing off. We'll speak in tomorrow.
