Dudley Delffs and The Faith Of Dolly Parton
from Isle of Misfits podcast · host Nancy Carmichael
Look what I found digging through the Misfit Archives! From all the way back in June of 2018, it seems fitting to listen to this wonderful conversation with Dudley Delffs about the one, the only, and the irreplaceable Dolly Parton... or as The Babylon Bee put it, the last remaining universally beloved human, who has now gone on to Glory. Lots of alliteration in this episode (Dudley Delffs... Divine Doses of Dolly... you get the idea), not to mention a spot on Stupid Game where you get to decide if we're throwing out fun or false facts about the Smoky Mountain Songbird. The world will be reeling from this tremendous loss for a while. But what she leaves behind, more than her outrageous talent, her crazy generosity, even her infectious joy, is a legacy of faith. And even though I never met her, I'm pretty sure she'd tell us that's the greatest legacy she could have left. You can find out more about Dudley here: https://www.dudleydelffs.com/index.htm And of course, get his delightful book "The Faith of Dolly Parton" Visit us on the Isle of Misfits here: https://isleofmisfits.com/ Be my Insta friend here! https://www.instagram.com/the_original_misfit/ ****************************************************************************************************************** From June 26, 2018: Maybe you've loved her for years... maybe you're barely aware of her enormous impact, not just in country music, but as a prolific songwriter, actor, philanthropist and literacy advocate (yes, you read that right). Whatever you know (or don't know) about her, you will be inspired and dare I say encouraged by this conversation with author Dudley Delffs about Dolly, and the faith that has fueled her to inspire so many.
