Dudley Fire Under Control in Idaho | Spokane News

The Dudley Fire in north Idaho, sparked by lightning on August 26th and burning over 800 acres, has been brought under control—now 88% contained—with evacuation orders lifted for Blackcloud, Dobson Pass, and Ferguson. Though it once forced “Get Ready” alerts and closed Dobson Pass Road, crews from the Idaho Panhandle National Forests have steadily gained ground. Command now rests with local district teams, who continue monitoring hotspots as the immediate danger eases—but the wildfire’s resilience reminds us how quickly nature can shift.
