一個念念不忘自己利益的人，進入不了佛法。這跟道德、修行無關，而是跟緣起的本質有關。「緣起」不離開自他的因緣，凡是契入當前的人，不可能離開當前的因緣，不可能不關心他人。看待事情，如果只是從個人的認知角度切入，既片面又單向，或者偏向於自己的欲望或利益，那麼肯定契入不了當前。一個學習緣起法的人，不會是自私的，因為他深深懂得，當前是在自他的因緣當中。能夠只見緣生法，不見有他，才能看到諸法緣生的智慧。
