Durkin Steps Up as Gophers’ New Scoring Threat | Minnesota Golden Gophers Basketball News

Bobby Durkin is poised to take on a bigger offensive role for the Gophers this season, stepping into the shoes of departing star Cade Tyson—who drained over 170 threes last year. Expect Durkin to see three to four extra shots per game, mostly from deep, as he transitions into a primary scoring option. With Tyson’s production and shot volume now his to carry, Durkin’s ability to handle the increased responsibility—and maintain or boost his efficiency—will be critical for the team’s success. The coaching staff is already crafting strategies to maximize his impact, making his performance one of the most watched storylines as the season kicks off.
