Hi everyone, welcome to Weeb Live 2017. We say it 2017, but there's going to be a 2018. We really don't know yet. Everyone have a good time?

Good to hear. OK. We're just going to jump into the show and feel free to video, whatever you want to do, feel free to post it, whatever. Let's go with us.

We don't care. So what we're going to do today is going to be a little bit different. We're going to do a regular podcast and some weird guy named Edmund and Crayfield. And then we're going to call up some of our podcasting guests and interview them, ones that you're probably very familiar with.

So it should be a lot of fun. Ready to get started? All right. Cool.

Welcome to History Gweeps. The podcast where we take a lighthearted look at the dark side of history. We are a comedy podcast through crime and history podcast. We do use adult language.

If adult language is in you, you wouldn't be here. So we're glad that you're here. But if you're listening to this in adult language up in you, please check out. You can go.

Come on, say it. Say it. You go fuck yourself. There you go.

OK. But we would really like to check out some of the other. Some of our other favorites. There's an actual real true crime podcast that if this kind of stuff offends you.

What are some of them? We would recommend. I would recommend, let's see, we have a young lady out here. Already gone?

Yes. We need it. Yes. One great podcast.

The Conspirators. The Conspirators. Great podcast. We have Ben and Roseanne.

They walk among us. Yes. And Chelsea from Baseball and Truth Crime. Yeah.

Although they may offend you. I've been with them this weekend and they have been a little bit offensive. They have been a bit offensive. They have been under me.

No, the problem is they're very happy people. You are some perky-ass people. What's wrong with you? They're very happy.

They're all holding hands and whatever. It's crazy. All right. Let me introduce our panel and very happy to introduce a lady, a very talented lady.

The very lovely, Phil Poppen. No, I'm going to do that. A lady who's known throughout the land as Brandy the Benevolent, and we need Brandy the first. Hi.

How are you Brandy? I'm good. I'm good. Kimmy, how are you?

I'm well. I'm well. Really? Yeah.

Excellent. Do you want me to do my thing now? Do your thing. Okay.

So I wanted to take a minute and I wanted to speak on the microphone and not walk around which is what I do on the phone. But I did want to let you guys know just how much we really appreciate what you guys do for us. You know, the group that we have on Facebook is so amazing. And I'm so glad we had this weekend so I can thank each and every one of you because we don't make that group what it is.

You guys do. It's amazing and it is a safe place. And I, you know, I post. Is it safe?

It's. Don't seem all that damn safe to me. You know, but it's where you can let your freak flag fly. And I appreciate that.

I post there more than I post on my own page because my friends don't really know how weird I am. And I wanted to say thank you from the three of us that we really appreciate you guys and what you do for us. And I wanted to make sure that you guys know that. The other thing I wanted to say and it is that this is a live show and I've had two copies.

So you know, stuff's going to happen and I may have to go to a little girls room. So just if that happens, just continue. And. Be in place.

You can be in place. I cannot. And that. But so I don't know.

That's kind of all I wanted to say. I appreciate every one of you. I'm so glad you guys came. It's such an honor to meet every one of you.

For me, I'm not speaking for the two of them who knows what them. But I appreciate all of you. And I thank you so, so much for coming out of your lives to be here. Yeah.

I mean, I'm just saying she is typically not as nice. She's not what I deal with on a daily basis. Yes. It's early.

Okay. Brandi time done. We're doing brandy time. Of course we are.

I think we need to get to check time. We didn't need to get to Colonel. Let me introduce the guy who's the most dangerous man in podcasting today. He is not a man who is known as really our moral compass.

It's very honorable. The Reverend Colonel Charles Bullrigard, Hawkwater's a third. Actually known as the Southern gentleman. How are you today, Charles?

I'm not good. I'm not good. I'm old. I'm sore.

And you were out past. I was at the last 10 o'clock last night. And I'm a little tired today. This is your first podcast since you're a.

Since I had an organ removed. I don't know if you can. No, it was it was it was unpleasant. But I survived.

It was a gallbladder. I had 11 cuts. I could have taken that out in my office. Let me just say you took six weeks off.

I was back to work my third day. You were talking. I'm working from home. You were working from home.

But we played around with this. You're working my best work. I'm calling for my best work. I'm calling for my best work.

I'm calling for my best work. I'm calling for my best work. I'm calling for my best work. I'm calling for my best work.

I'm calling for my best work. I'm calling for my best work. I'm just saying. I will show you my scars after the show.

God. Anybody want to see it? Are you trying to do for that? No, they can feel it for free.

That's part of the deal. Part of the experience. Part of the package. But otherwise I'm very happy to be here.

We're good. Oh, wait. I want to say one more thing. So, sure.

We're back to Randy. No, it's probably similar. Alright. So, back there in those chairs.

Shirley, Charlotte, and Allison Shields were so disappointed that they couldn't be here. And so, they are here with us in spirit right over there. If you guys would or if you want to, everybody stop and package your pictures taken with them and we can send them out. And they'll be really excited about that.

So, and I would lay in front of a car for Shirley. And I'm not sure why. She's just amazing. So, um.

Jesus Christ, when we get to the pocket. You didn't get no goddamn Academy Award. I can't call it that much. My name is standing up there talking about global warming and everything else.

She's getting a damn pocket. Hey, we could get a party for this. I don't want you to worry. Alright.

Okay. Rachel, Rachel, we want to thank Rachel too. She's back there working the PowerPoint. Thank you, Rachel.

Yes. She's very hungover. So, thanks for coming in hungover like that, Rachel. Yeah.

Is everyone hungover? Most of you? Some of you? Not of you?

Okay. Alright. Let's talk about the Holy Roller. Edmond Crayfield and his sex call.

I know. I'm only about a year and a half away from you. Really? Oh yeah.

I'm taking this as a blueprint right here. There's some stuff that happens and I'm going to try to avoid. But this is my plan right here. Edmond Crayfield was quite a ladies man.

No. Alright. So Edmond Crayfield was a religious leader in the early 20th century who promoted nudity and free love, Randy. Perfect.

Those are all good things, then. He started a church called the Bride of Christ Church where he was looking for the new Mary. And he had to test them out to see if they were suitable to be the new Mary. Perfect.

Yeah. Yeah. Tim's closer to doing this than you, Chuck. Never mind.

Now you've got to find all the damage ones. Oh yeah, that's true. Oh, some of these. Yeah.

Some of these women are really handsome. You'll see. I can see. They will.

Yeah. Okay. So he obtained this as a stand for following. This motherfucker had to be in Northwest.

In Oregon and Washington. Very good. There we go. Let me see Washington.

Is that what you really want to hear? Yeah. Here's that Washington. Okay.

He was born from France. Like I think. From France. From France.

No. Edmond Crayfield on August 10th, 1873. I'll guess that's it. Okay.

His mama was not pregnant at Christmas time. Yeah. I'll guess that's it. He was born in Firth.

German. You have a determined as a baby? I can't say. No.

I can say. Cool. Most of his life he would go by the name of Edmond until he became a prophet, Brandy. And then he would go by Joshua the second.

Perfect. Yeah. That's better than Edmond. Yeah.

I thought he knew Prophet named Edmond. No. His mother's name was Kool-Gah. I think he was a handsome woman.

But she was very stern. She was fiercely devoted, fiercely devoted evangelical Christian. She's like, she's a looker. She looks like the check from the Exorcist.

Christ. Jesus. I've seen some things. I'm like that.

She made her children read the Bible three hours each day. Good thing. I usually try to do hour and a half. I'm not a lunatic about that.

I just try to do hour and a half. Not for an article. No, I'm not a fanatic. Yeah.

Hour and a half you can get it done in a year. Can you? That's an amazing thing that you know. I've actually written some additional books in the Bible.

The book of the chock. It's the book of the Colonel. Colonel, lesions. Alright, so she made her kids read the Bible three hours each day and they had to attend church services three times a week.

She was also a strict disciplinarian. She would beat Edmond and his sisters were the slightest interactions. Why is that funny? I don't know what you're laughing about.

Because she's...it just strikes me funny as a person who reads the Bible every day, goes to church every day and then comes home and beats a hell out of their kids. It's a little bit of a contradiction. It's a contradiction. It has a fair of the right situation though.

It might depend. You can spare the right occasionally. Beat them every day. You shouldn't have to be replacing a right every day and I'm weak on a kid's note.

I understand her plight. My mama was a little rough on me. Okay, so Edmond's father was a meek and mild man. Bless his heart.

And I'm not sure he didn't have good eyesight either because you see in her ass. He admired his father. And even though it was clear to everyone that he'll go wore the pants in the family. No kidding.

Aw, they're not a handsome group of people. He was a nerdy man who worked at the civil servant delivering mail. Yeah, he did. No.

No, no. No. No. No.

No. No. No. No.

No. No. No. No.

No. No. No. No.

No. No. No. No.

No. No. No. And he slid on his pants.

No. He had to slide behind me where I couldn't think arose to him. No a race. No a race.

No. No. No no. No.

No, no. I told him, I was like, any time I get the chance to go to Target or anything without my kid, I'm gone two hours. She gave no crack a window, gave no other remote. My momma used to take me and just let people fawn over me.

Did she? People used to fawn over Casey. It was the most obnoxious thing ever. People would take pictures because he was this little blonde person.

I can't even imagine. He did. He's a man. He's a man.

I hope he hears it. He won't. Oh, he won't. Oh, he won't hear about it.

Okay. So, his mother said that she told her husband that Edmond has the devil smile. He pulled her back. I said.

Have you been told that? My grandmother, my grandmother, bye dear departed grandmother, God rest for soldiers from Ireland. She did. She did, too.

I do not choose. He used to call me the devil's own. That was her name for me. The devil's own.

That shocking. I had this beautiful Irish accent so it sounded like it was a compliment. He'd be like, Hi, there's a devil's own right there. C'mere Chucky.

That was very sweet, very sweet. She loved her Chi. She's the only person I ever called me Chucky. Not anymore.

Oh, I got you. Ladies. Ladies, also seem to be taken by Edmond's white blue eyes and white meaning. He did nothing to discourage his admirers.

In fact, he looked for opportunities to exploit them. This guy's reminding me more and more you, Timmy. The more I read about this guy, the more I'm thinking, Timmy. Give me a couple paragraphs.

I'm thinking the similarities only grow as we get through this. When he was 12 years old, he received love letters from his 32-year-old second-rate teacher. How does she? Mary Kay Lauterno?

What the hell? I got her name out. Oh, that's her name. This is German people.

Her name was Der Bush. That's not nasty. You. Oh, yeah.

This is not early. It's not early. No. It's eight years old.

You're at different times, man. No. You're at different times, man. No.

You're at different times, man. No. You're at different times. You know that's not it.

I got a magic. Yeah. We'd whack her, man. Never.

In my life. People don't just look at, well, some people do, I guess, but now it's illegal. You don't get a 12-year-old to go, you know what? I'm gonna get me some of that.

Yeah. Nobody. That's illegal. It was different times.

No. No. This is gross. Anytime.

Anytime. This shit hasn't even dropped yet. Ew. Ew.

You guys boys and James. You don't know that maybe he's materially. He's talking like Alvin in the chipmunks. Ew.

He was a charmer now. Yeah, he was. And he grew older. And then he can quite the ladies, man.

The ladies, man. No, not the ladies, man. He was fighting me in short. He was the only five.

He's not Prince. That's all I'm saying. That's the only five-foot-six guy that is, you know, okay. He's a little sexy.

This kid's 12. He's growing up now. He was five-six and he was rather odd-looking. He's rather odd-looking.

So, yes. Can we get to a good part about Alvin here? Yeah. And then he was quite a charmer when it comes to women.

It didn't hurt. And then, what, and then Crayfield was very well in Dowell's. Now we're getting to it. Now we can get to my comparison.

And I'm gonna tell ya. It ain't easy. It ain't easy. You feel my pain.

I feel the pain, bro. It ain't easy. It was reported. Oh, alright.

Cover James is the other here. Yeah, I'm too hung over for that. It was reported that his penis was 13 and a half inches long. And he referred to his penis as Lucky.

I bet he did. Do we have an image of that? No, it looks like it's available. No picture, I'm looking at him.

But I can't show you my scars after the show. Is this what he was 12 without my teachers? No, he's growing up. He wasn't growing up.

He wasn't growing up. He wasn't growing up. No, I don't. No, still growing.

13 and a half inches. Just think if you were alive today, it's like 20 years old, that boy. What crossed the bear? He'd be dirt-digler at that point.

But that's nasty. It was estimated that Edmond Crayfield had sex with 80% of the women. And for Germany during his time. It was a guest in it.

Yeah. He's like a will changer. He's like a will changer. He's like a will changer.

You know, and this is a report, right? I'm a bliss man. I know. 80% of the women in this town.

I guess. It was just word of mouth. It was just word of mouth. You.

There were several attempts on his life by angry cousins in the area. In 1900, a group of men formed a lynching mob to put the end of Edmond and Lucky once and for all. That's why I don't put pictures of my stuff out there on the other side. Yeah, that's a reason.

People are even. No one wants to see that. Well, that could be true. So learning that a mob was after Edmond went into hiding, the men went so far to form a search party and put up one in posters around town.

I've had men. I've lucky in there. I think I've had men. Okay.

And, you know, so they're after him. He's not winning over the guys in the town. That's a lady like. He also had military service coming up and a lynch mob after him.

So he thought it might be a good time to leave first. And even leave Germany altogether. Hold on. Can we get to what the one at Science said?

All right. The one at Science said, do not be cuckolded by this man. Yeah. So this was a cuckolding.

Cuckold. That's good advice. Really? One of those.

Okay. So ladies and friends help him make it to the port city of Fomburn where he boarded a freight that's in for the west coast of the United States. So they formed like a penis underground railroad. Yeah.

Yeah. For lucky. Wow. In the spring of 1903 Colonel, Edmund Creco arrived in Cravallis, Oregon and quickly joined the Salvation Army.

Oh, I forgot to mention. He had a rough passage and he prayed to God that if he would make it safely to the US, he would devote his life to Christ as a God. And being a man of his word when he arrived in Oregon, he joined the Salvation Army. The bar is good.

Wait. Is that like a real thing or with the abeloriner? I'm just picture any mouse. I have to go with the guard.

Yeah. No, not with the bell. Oh. Oh.

Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. God bless you.

Yeah. He was well received by the organization and made friends quickly, especially among the ladies, especially among the ladies of the congregation. He was a ladies man. What did he just walk around with his dick out and be like, hey, you know, and see?

He's a handsome gentleman. No, no, not. You know, sometimes if you have like nice green eyes or whatever you dress accordingly and a devil smile. Yeah.

But if you have attributes that are hidden sometimes you have them make them a little visible. Like wearing skinny jeans? That's the best. That you can't fit your hips and do.

You know what? That's not even funny. I'm going to go off topic here. I'm going to tell you a story.

I go to the store and I always buy Levi's because I know, you know, what size I wear. But now Levi's has like 360 different types, you know, the 5.1s, 5. And I wear, I wear 550s. I know I don't have to try them on.

I can grab 550s. I can go. And one day I grab a pair of 505s and they're in my size and I get in a dressing room and I'm trying to pull these damn things up and I'm like, damn, oh, I got in my back. I can't get them past my knees.

And I look down and I have grabbed skinny jeans. Which is, you know, okay, but what I'm thinking is why in the hell would anybody make skinny jeans for somebody my size? Nobody my size needs to be wearing skinny jeans. So I know the lady.

That's absolutely true. You need to take these off the shelf because it's just not cool. Well, I'm sure the people at Coles appreciated all your input. They did.

They did. Is that Kim stumbling out from the professor? Because normally I'm still one of those people that I have to go show my clothes to my wife if I try them on. Right.

So I came around with the pants on my ankle. You could get them over your child and ask an after-out look. Yeah. That's perfect.

Just an aside there. Yeah. Alright, so it was not long before Edmond was preaching to the good folks of Corvalus. Now, 30 years old, he quickly established himself as the town's most eligible bachelor.

That was the same. Women of all ages with cooking dinner and baking pies, Colonel. Here's what I want to know. Now, Devil, if you found out somebody's packing 13 and a half, would that get you to cook?

No. I mean, not even that. Not even that. No, I need somebody to come in and clean my house.

I can get dick anywhere. So what'd you need to survive to clean up? I can buy that shit. If you can find a guy that comes over and cleans the house and carries Perkis.

No, that's different. That's who you want. Oh, that's the man. Carries Perkis.

Sure. Alright. So even the married women, Randy, of the congregation with Fawn over Edmond. I don't understand.

Is it female admirers range in the age of from 13 to 85? Is he sleeping with all of them? No, no, no. And these are his admirers.

I don't know. Don't dismiss those 85-year women. Of course. I'm not in place with a lot of attractive 85-year women.

Are there? Yeah. For you. It's not for me.

Oh, no. Clear like go ahead. Alright. Maybe Ken Transfix whenever he would deliver a sermon.

So he had the gift. The Gifton speaker. The Gifton speaker. The small church of Christ grew from 78 members to 166 members and of course of three months.

Even though Edmond seemed universally loved by the women of the congregation, the men were a bit more skeptical. The men of the congregation were especially skeptical. When Edmond started preaching that women should not respect their husbands. And if they did, they would wear centers.

Were their husbands wear centers? No. They should not respect their husbands because they were centers. He was trying to turn the women against the men.

Yes. That's right. Now you don't even have to work that hard to do it. They seem to be lined up against us anyway.

But at least in my house. But there's only one of them there. So how big is that line? It's ugly.

It's mean, evil, ugly like that one. In fact, Edmond told the ladies at Colonel it was their duty to deny their husbands pleasure of the flesh if their husbands were not right with God. I know. They probably did not go very well.

No, I would not go to that church. I would not be tithing there. And being right with God according to Edmond, doing anything God's representative on earth directed in the dew and that was Edmond. Yes.

He proclaimed he was God's representative on earth and the ladies should not lay down with their husbands without his consent. Sounds like a good plan so far for you, Edmond. What? So you've got to get permission from this short little guy with a big dick before you lay down with your husband.

Lucky. Sure. Before you have sex with your husband. You know he's only five six.

I'm just trying to do. He's five six and that's fourteen inches. That's so bitch-gragging the ground when he walks. He's got to tie it to his leg.

No photo of his friend. Okay. So the women of the congregation started denying their husbands sex for the slightest infraction or sin, Brandy. If a man cursed.

Like that don't happen now. If a man cursed, drank or worked on Sunday, the wife would stop cooking and doing chores. If their husband would say, across word about the beloved Reverend Crayfield, the women were to deny their husbands the pleasures in the bedroom. You think about that, Brandy?

Good for them. I don't get to stop working on Sunday because I, and Dr. Phil said this in a five or seven I've ever seen him kick in his ass. Yeah.

Because he said he did a show and he was talking to a couple and he's like, you know, sex is not a reward. No. I was like, oh hell no. If sex ain't a reward, my grass ain't getting covered.

I ain't painting nothing. I ain't fixing nothing. I'm laying on a damn couch and watching football. That's what I'm doing on Sunday.

Yeah. Well, I'm talking to it. That was highness. I did not like Dr.

Phil. All right. So these accrees did not set well with the elders of the church. Mostly, older married men.

And in November of 1903, Edmund was invited to leave the church. I didn't invite somebody to leave. I think they tried to get the hell out. You know, he was excommunicated.

I could invite you to just go on ahead out of here. You ever been kicked out of a church? No. Are you sure?

Yeah. Have you ever been to church? No. Okay.

I had to back me kicked out of a church in the middle of the summer. I was threw up in the middle of the summer. It was my wife that kicked me out. Well, I had to drop no off at this little church thing on Wednesdays and you know, I don't, I'm not a big church goer.

Clearly. Shocking. But there's a thing there and I think it's a tithing plate, but every time I see it, I want to, it looks like an ashtray. And so it's amazing.

I keep wanting to tip a cigarette in it every time I walk in there. It's what it looks like. It looks like an ashtray on a pencil. I'll follow your typical pattern of blasphemy.

You know, if you take money out of the train, they never pass it around to you again. You know, I may do that. I'm just happy that the church stands when I drop no off and drop them off outside and I just get them in there and then I have to go. It's uncomfortable.

I feel like I'm being judged. You are partly. I know. I know.

And the thing is, the person, one of the people judging me had a friggin' mullet. She had a permed business in front, parting the bat and mullet. But she cannot judge me. Oh, yes she is.

But she might be carrying on guys' will during the week as opposed to you. Do you think that God told her to get that hairstyle? I do not know her. I can't figure out who doesn't love her that would actually do that to her.

There's no hairstylist in the world. I've had a 20 minute conversation about this with my girlfriend. I don't. Who does that to you?

Maybe she can't do it herself. Well, she'd have to do with like, cheers. She broke a beer bottle. That's bad.

It's bad scene. She cannot judge me. Not to be deterred, Brandi. Okay.

Ed Mints started his own church. And he invited his female admirers to join him. There you go. By December of 1903, most of the members had broken off from the local church and started following Prayfield and his unique brand of Christian holiness.

So most of the members of the local Salvation Army were members of the, or friends of the Hurt family, which was a long-standing family, very established in the community. One of, of, of, of Crayfield's most admiring supporters was a man named Orlando Victor, or, as he's known, O.V. Hurt. O.V.

Hurt. They were prominent in the community and they gave their support to Crayfield and gave him a degree of legitimacy. From the Hurt family, there was O.V. the head of household and his wife, Sarah, their son, Frank, and he had two daughters, Maud and May.

And this guy was going to bang all of them. And then we'll get to that. They had a large home and they invited Crayfield to set up his sect, his church, and at the youth's house at his headquarters. O.V.

was 45 years old. In 1903, they had salesman at the Klein merchant pile. And he was the Republican Party State Committeeman in that area. He and his wife, Sarah, who was 42, had been married 23 years.

And both of her daughters, Maud and May, were really taken with Edmond. Oh, yeah? Yeah. And although...

That's why I can see a lot of this you have to remember, I happen when people used to take bass and stuff in public. So, you know, I got around. I like it. Yeah, you didn't want to, like, clean Eastwood movies and stuff when you go to the barber and you take the bath and they bring hot water and they have indoor showers, you had to take a bath and shower outside so everybody knew about Lucky.

I'm just on it. You think he's on tickets to watch him? Do you think he's on tickets? No, but work out around.

This small town. So they don't bathe in the bathtub inside, they just bathe in a trough. Him being a traw. It's like the Seattle's commercials, like that you see them over the hill.
