Pastor continues transitioning from wives to husbands in 1 Peter 3:7. Ephesians 5:25-33. How does Christ become your head? -Not by coercion; not by force; not by over riding your will. It is His love that recognizes a need and is willing to meet that need, not with a heavy hand but with a servant's hand. Husbands should state: I will meet your needs though it cost my everything. Wives should state: I will obey my husband and do right even if it costs me my life. The elevation of husband to the head of the home is not to lord over others but that of servanthood. He should be an improvement on her life that she is in the shadow of protection and provision. Song of Songs 1:16-2:7. Conditions of her house is strong so she can be a rose/lilly. She is the fruitful appletrees provided shade by the tall woods around her. Husbands elevate her in the home. As a woman ages and give birth, she develops blemishes and scars. Those closest to Jesus in heave are martyrs and their scars are considered precious in God's sight. The place a wife should feel the most safe is not in the house, but in the husbands attention (safe in his heart). The wife is defined by his love for her. She wants to see if his love for her is persisting. Satan tries to currupt relationships by convincing men that they cannot understand women. Genesis 2:21-25. If a single man can woo a woman then he understands her if he does the work. God is the center of your life and your wife should penetrate every area of his life. A virtuous wife elevates her husband and in the elevated position the husband testifies of his wife. Just as believers humble themselves before God and He esteems them. Just so a wife humbles herself to her husband and he elevates his wife.
