Dwindling Budgets Prompt IT Rationalization

With money tight, IT departments in all sorts of organizations are looking for efficiencies and making systematic efforts to reduce non-productive redundancies. In addition to saving money, a hoped for byproduct is that a successful rationalization exercise will also remove disincentives and barriers to shared services, find reasonable levels of sourcing, improve the interoperability of applications, and optimize the delivery of services.
