Dyatlov Pass

from What Lies Beneath

In February 1959, nine experienced hikers died mysteriously in Russia’s Ural Mountains. Their tent was found cut open from the inside, with the group fleeing into the freezing wilderness without proper clothing. Their bodies showed unusual injuries, and the Soviet investigation blamed an unknown “compelling force.” To this day, theories range from an avalanche and military testing to secret experiments and even UFOs.
