So we recently went to one in um, Payson and I posted this we have a facebook page just for our team, you know to organize, you know Who's coming in who's going in what events we've got coming up?
I posted this one like hey investigation of pacing on this date and this time, you know who can come and put the poll to see who can come in one of the gals goes What's with Payson? I don't know what's with Payson, but it's like super-hounded. So we went down there It's actually a home we've been to before doing this kind of work. There's different kinds of people There are people that you know their house is doing weird things and they have a scum mountain and check it out There are people who I think are lonely and just want friends and they call us out every week And then there are people that just are sensitive just notice things that pop around and we'll go clear it out several months later They'll also get so this was one of those gals and we've worked with her and we've been there what probably three or four times now Yeah, and she's fantastic.
We love her. She's one of our favorites And she's just she's sensitive and things follow her and her dogs were noticing that too, right? Yeah, this is something their dogs were noticing and she was having you know sounds and she described some of the sounds for some of the sounds were You know, she I mean she would go and reenact she would go over this table and she said it sounded just like this happened And she would move something on a table just in the corner But through the investigation we took Skyler and Vivian with us who else was there? You and me and Skyler and Vivian It was Ethan.
Oh, that's right. He'd open our car with us all the way down there. Yeah, we're losers Sorry Ethan for that. The course of the investigation we determined that it was a type three that had followed her home And he was pretty nasty I was standing back in the corner and Ethan's talent.
He can see of these spirits I kept feeling like like I had hands around my neck and I felt like something was pulling on my arm and then um, what else did I feel? Oh, and then it felt like something was biting my hand And so I kept you know through not only Charles and the dowsing rods, but also Ethan who could physically see the spirit I kept saying is something biting me. He's like, yeah, you know something choking me. Yeah, it's something Something grabbing my arm and so I was like, uh, and then Skyler and Vivian were getting some They were able to capture him on the sls.
There's there's Raven. There's something else Something else that's there and it's not you know trying to triangulate on it was in like an exercise room and there was nothing behind me I mean there was me and a wall so it wasn't like oh, no, that's not a spirit That's really you know the treadmill or something like that. It was it was a spirit They said it was a little bit lower a little bit smaller So we were able to get it out of the house and she's happy so Great. Yeah, we had a we had a really good public investigation Saturday night out at the Merkers Cemetery in Toula County And we had a number of our regular patrons out there that come to a lot of these things and some new people and it was a really good investigation We had our little safety procedure briefing and talked about it and then we went out and investigated Raven, what were some of the highlights?
There were a couple of new things there like that circle and crown Yeah, we went out there and there was this if you've ever been to Merker or never been to Merker. It's an old mining cemetery There's about 100 120 people buried there and I guess at one time We've actually met a researcher out there a couple times ago when we were there And they said at one time all of the graves had those little fences around them But now there's probably only fences around what maybe 15 or 20 But there's circles of stones and you can just kind of wander and find these circles of stones all over the place Well, someone had taken these stones and they'd made a star and a crown and we had done some research up there And apparently the star and the crown are actually protective Symbols, you know symbols of protection We determined through boughs and rods and the k2 meters. Yes, no questions that there were seven type threes there And we have never encountered type threes there before And the interesting thing is the star had seven rays on the star and then it had like a little cairn in the middle of it and it had Obsidian in each little pocket pocket and I mean there's things there that you thought whoever did this knew what they were doing There was some intent behind that was it was yeah? Well, and somebody used like a whole six pack of corona beers there too.
I mean unopened ones right I mean, you know and there was bullet casing where they said don't they forgot it or was that a gesture to the spirits? I mean we've been there several times before and it's out in the boonies and it's a place where for example There's a gigantic rock probably weighs 15,000 pounds. It's huge I mean, it's the one that they put you know the plaque on it says this is the Merkers cemetery and we wouldn't go anywhere Or is it you would think you would think we got out there and somebody had tipped it over And you had you can't just go out there and just tip it over You have to intentionally want to tip that over this had to be done with like a tractor or a truck or someone got a hydraulic jack out or I mean you wonder why why would you care? To do something like that.
Yeah, but it was kind of nuts Yeah, anyway, but we go out there a lot and you can tell that there's always stuff out there from kids that just go out there to have a good time I mean yeah, not unusual to see beer bottles and cans a lot of beer bottles a lot of cans You know places where they've built fires, you know, I'm sure they've had the camp out and people go to ranch LaHente now They're in fact I got out there. There's no bathroom within like what six miles of this place at least maybe maybe more and You know, I get out there. It's like I got a potty So I just go trotting off into the Juniper trees You know, it's like I gotta get far enough away that someone's not gonna turn a corner and go Oh, hey look Raven, but so um I'm walking and I'm like, okay And I have never seen a rattlesnake there But it is rattlesnake country and other people in our group have been there at times where they've seen rattlesnakes I'm watching for rattlesnakes, right? Because I don't want to step on when I get bit Yeah, I turn a corner and I'm thinking okay, there's there's my bush There's my little privacy bush and there's a tranchella walking straight towards me I had a moment.
I had a moment. I still don't think I've quite recovered from that moment pretty short tried to kill me I almost died. I'm certain that I never been so fast in my life And then I was terrified because it's like where did it go because now maybe I'm stuck here forever because I don't know where that tranche was but anyway, but people go tranche like that there because there's a lot of them I've only seen one yeah, we actually another time we were out there ran into a couple of guys that that's what they were out there for You know, it's like what you doing out here and we said we're tranchellatin They're like there's ghosts and I'm like there's tranchellos Anyway, I'll ask my turn. Oh, but the point is there I mean there's a lot of activity out there But I've never seen anything like these little things but over the course of the investigating Apparently something was contained in one of those And it was more protection than anything but there was those type three other seven of them And they weren't pretty they one of our investigators had to go home because it made her get a really bad stomach ache And actually her husband came with her at some point her husband's like no you're done.
We're going home You have had enough fun today. Um and then they attend they tend to attack styler He's getting better with that Not that he was bad at it, but I mean just it happens so often he's figuring out what to do and how to counteract it They were they were Hugging him a little bit but the other spirits that are there that are usually pretty chatty They were congregating around us at one point where like how many spirits around us it was 15 But hardly any of them were saying a word. We don't know if they're like help us or if I don't know it was the normal spirits were very very quiet that night and the darker spirits were pretty accurate Rotten center But it was it was a good investigation. It was cold though.
It was chilly. I'm glad I had a jacket Raven is thinking chilly is 68 degrees. So You saw in the desert. It's gotta be bone chilling.
We called it was it rained that day. Yeah, it was it was chilly I was wearing a jacket. I mean a windbreaker, but it was a little chilly. I don't know that I would define it as cold It was cold If you're a girl it was cold Okay, well that was a great investigation.

Okay today. We're gonna talk about I thought there was just The divic box. I didn't realize there were divic boxes. Did you know this?
I heard there well I've heard different stories I've heard that there is multiple divic boxes. There is the infamous divic box that kind of started this whole thing And then also there are like boxes that people will Sell online. I think we talked about that a little bit prior to the podcast So that actually gets a little bit into the drink drawer, but we'll come back to that later I mean we don't have to not talk about it ever but yeah So I mean, you know, I think the one that most people are aware of is The story of the divic box that reportedly came from a woman in Poland. It was a holocaust Right now This is the divic box that currently Zach Bagan's has in his haunted museum in Las Vegas And so Chad and I have seen this have you been there?
I've not but just have you been there? No, that sounds cool. Yeah, I never so a little plug for Zach Bagan's you'll know how I feel about his Surprise you went but he does have some really cool stuff in his music Okay, and it was it was a good tour It was a good tour and that divic box should go in and it's kind of in its own room There wasn't really anything else in there wasn't it just the divic box room and it's in the center of the room in the room to me It seemed like it was round. Am I remembering that wrong?
I don't remember. I remember something better than you do I don't pay attention to the shape of the legend. I don't pay attention to shapes of rooms all that okay Remember this moment because this never happens all right So it seems to me like the room was round and the divic box was in the middle of the room on a pillar with like a case over it And it had probably three inches of salt all the way around it. I've never seen so much salt You just want to be sure right?
Yeah, well, no, no, I don't I don't blame him It was in case in a you know in a glass case and you know so people only place I've seen more salt in one period of time was the salt flat in Salt Lake City But how close could you walk to it? You could touch the glass if you wanted to I think I opted to not That's a blind cabinet, right? Yeah, and I mean I'm trying to think it seems like they had like you know the little velvet Yeah, I think they could not touch the glass. Yeah, but you got close enough that you could and I mean They're probably gonna zap if you tried to but I just probably maybe you know thinking of the divic box Maybe we should talk about what a divic actually is before so the victim or the previous owner of the Holocaust survivor was Jewish and in Jewish mythology divics are Essentially demons spirits bad spirits for the most part You know, I'm sure they can manifest in a bunch of different ways But apparently this particular divic or demon had been trapped inside the box And then the box was sold right it was or it was purchased from this holocaust victim to somebody who I was at a garage sale.
I believe was that a garage sale? I mean and a state sale like I think of grudge sales more I think this would be more of a state sale where they had some different things So it was it was in a state sale apparently the guy that bought it had an antique store So he'd be out looking for antiques and different things like that and it's like hey cool A wine box and it had a little a little brass lock on it You know that had been added extra you know a little latch and then a little brass lock on it So couldn't be opened up. He was like, you know pretty excited to get up So this individual's name is Kevin Manis looks like this happened in Portland Now Kevin found this wine box And it's really quite a pretty box. You know, it's a it's a nice size.
I mean, you know smaller when I say smaller Two feet. Yeah, I could probably get four wine bottles in it Yeah, and you know, it's wood and it's got some pretty little out of it On the front of it It has like a great leaf looking thing on front actually a picture with a salt and a huge wine Yep And so he decided to give it to his mother as a gift was it his mother for her birthday for her birthday And so they're sitting in in their shop and he's like mom Happy birthday. Look, I got this really cool antique wine, you know A box for you that contains pure evil So about this time he gets a phone caller. He's called away and so he leaves the room and there she is And she's like, oh my son bought me this antique wine box.
This is really cool. So she starts to examine it As a mother would Well, it was just gifted a box. This is pretty. Let's check it out So she opens it up and inside there's a A little I can't remember if it was a rock or a little placard, but it had some Hebrew words on it I think it said Shalom.
I didn't hear what it said, but yeah, there was Hebrew script on the I think it was Shalom I could be wrong and there's a couple other things in there But yeah, I had um two us wheat pennies dating 1925 and 1928 two locks of hair A dried rose bud and four legged candlestick a golden wine cup and a granite sculpture inscribed with the Hebrew word Shalom Yep, I remember this a long part One for eight not bad. Hey I was gonna say almost passing but You know, I'm having to learn here is that I've got nine tunes. I'm trying to learn in three weeks on my bagpipe So the fact that I remember anything is amazing. You gotta make space I have a bagpipe brain right now.
Yeah, just I'm with you. Well, I didn't hear much about the hair You know, or they didn't say much about that. So hair like who did that? Well, we kind of know sort of but not really why would there be wheat pennies?
Yeah, so what the guy's name was Kevin the owner's name was Kevin Kevin man is Yep, so you know he stepped out to take care of some business Moms looking at the box and then one of the co-workers noticed that you know a few minutes later mom's not doing so good He goes over tried to get her attention She's just kind of staring off into space and the only thing she can really do is point at the box So he runs and go get goes and gets Kevin and there's something wrong with your mom So he comes out mom has had a stroke, but the only thing she can do Is she so concerned about what she saw? I mean we actually watched a youtube and heard her give an eyewitness I counted what happened, but you know, she just said that when she opened the box She felt like something just evil was there and she said she could almost feel the stroke coming on and But she said she knew it was what happened to her She says I knew it was because of what was in the box I wanted to warn my son and the other people in the store that it was evil and it was very very bad in the stayway So she put even though she just had a stroke She put every ounce of effort and every ounce of anything that she could do at that point to tell them You know stay away from the box and so she was able to do it in such a way that Kevin's like there's something wrong with that box Yeah, I was reading the I mean like a creepy stare Staring off at it. I was reading the divics are capable of possession like they can take over People's bodies. Yeah, they're strong ones and also they're capable of inflicting harm, which would you know stroke would probably fall into the category?
Yep Yeah, well and then on to the next owner because at this point Kevin's like being out on the box Well, he tried to take it back to the place where he got got it at the estate sale thinking You know first of all that they might you know want it because of the stuff that was inside and everything else and the girls like no No, we don't want it. We don't want your stroke box anymore Yes, keep it. Yeah, keep that away. They said no we're not taking it back.
She wouldn't take it back and I guess her Her and there It's like no, we don't want to tag your it there was a reason it was so cheap Yeah, he tried to give it to his girlfriend at the time and she was like no, I don't want that thing Like why would you give that evil thing to your girlfriend? What's wrong with you? Yeah? So I'm just on a little bit of a tangent one of the things I find really interesting about this paranormal story is how well documented it is You know, we talked a little bit about that a lot of paranormal stories be you know Can be hearsay and you know speculation and that kind of stuff that there's you know the people that actually were involved here You know are on camera and it's it's relevant and current kind of like the Don Decra case where there's you know People around that were involved and you can actually talk to people that were involved in the paranormal Aspect of the case and so I find that interesting about this case with this specific diffic box It's only happened from like 2001 so like it's like other stories are so ancient like you never know like word of mouth and stuff But this is only 2001 because of that it's well documented and there's video and there's you know the actual interviews with the people that were involved Yeah, I'm with you just on the other cusum or so well even you just get back into the 20s and 30s even into the 60s We didn't have as much recording equipment and stories and sometimes our newspaper articles people aren't blogging about stuff back then Yeah Yeah, documentation your mouth.
Yeah, where the mouth is about all you had at some point That sounds like it so the box was eventually sold to a Jason Hacksdon Yeah, it's either one that was like a He's the director of the museum of Austin traffic medicine in Crookville, Missouri Right now, isn't that a place where you were looking at going? Uh, I did apply there I didn't have interviewing there that went somewhere else Well, that's because you went to the place that you applied to first and that was your first choice Indeed, but yeah, it was on my list But I thought it was interesting that this box ended up in the hands of somebody there because Crookville, Missouri is not a very large city It's pretty small town, Stappin, Santa, Austin, Pothick, Unclesville there. That's where Austin, Pothick, Medicine started The guy one of the YouTube videos that I watched actually interviewed him He was actually talking about it and you know He was looking at it to not say to debunk the paranormal but to understand it and to look at it from a scientific standpoint And you know you have somebody with a you know the medical and the scientific background looking at this and he was quite interested in that And it was my understanding that he didn't toy with it a lot He basically just buried it in his yard at least that was one of the accounts that I read is that he wasn't really scrolling around a lot Wanted it was interested in it, but eventually he just was like What a thing in the ground What I had read and listened to on YouTube was he you know put some gloves on and was doing a bunch of experiments and you know There's this little area that's you know dark and let's see what that is and didn't have any issues with it and thought oh This is just a bunch of you know a load of hogwash He left it in the office and people in the office started complaining about headaches just at school Interesting and you know complaining of headaches complaining of things and so then he took it home And at home weird things started happening something happened to him I don't remember what it was But I remember his wife was banging on the door because he was in the bathroom Oh, he got sick really sick to his stomach Was throwing up a gelatinous substance that he had never seen before while he's in the bathroom throwing up his wife comes Right at the stairs screaming his name is banging on the door He opens the door and the interesting thing is they show pictures of this But you know just water blisters like just with the tip-sirver fingers clear up to her elbows on both of her arms That point he's like yeah We're putting this away. Yeah, so he played with it at first and then he didn't love it Then he buried it Gotcha Yeah, it sounds like I mean obviously with his interactions that he had with the divock box he felt that it was indeed a possessed item or a you know a haunted item And uh, yeah, I just haunted I'm the best one sounds like he uh Sold the rights to the whole like divock box story in about 2004 So there was a couple of years of time in between there and they made a movie about it And is that one the possession the possession?
Yeah, that's the one that I said, oh, we should watch that came up in 2012 I don't think I've seen that I've either have you seen that one Jess the possession scary movies scare me So I usually avoid them You know, I usually don't watch the blood and guts ones like saw and stuff like that But if it's if it's one based on a like on a true haunting like the conjureine And those so when I found out that the possession was based on this divock box story, I was like, oh, we got watched that So I think one of these movie nights. We're gonna watch that That should be an interesting one Halloween's coming up. Yeah, I try to watch a scary movie every night during Halloween season. So Maybe I'll throw it.
I've ever watched a Halloween tree. I'm gonna go off on a date. Sure have Halloween treats a cartoon It's Leonard Neemoy that narrates it. I think so.
It's a read-bradbury story. I think I'm honored me boy I'm honored me boy. There it's it if you haven't seen it find it. It's fantastic.
I mean, it's a cartoon like it's a good show Is it like a Christmas tree with pumpkins on it or? Halloween tree really much not It's kind of like tree with like jackal energy. It's kind of like the Charles the Charles Dickens of Halloween That's true kind of never heard of it kind of ghosts of Halloween past kind of a deal with mummies and stuff It's watching back to Dibbix boxes. There are no dibbix in Halloween tree So we kind of have touched on what I would call in parentheses the Dibbix box Dibbix box kind of the one when people talk about the Dibbix box I think that's the one they're referring to but it's not the only Dibbix box.
There are other boxes out there that are purported to hold demons and have been made specially using witchcraft and other things to try to capture and A demon in in the box and and hold it there. I watched a number of youtubes with different people that had purchased Dibbix boxes off of ebay or different places And you know had Dibbix box openings And had some very interesting results in a number of them again. I don't know how much of that is entertainment only how much of that is accurate It's kind of hard to tell we looked at a couple of them and it seemed not not too Realistic, but then there were others one. It's really quite interesting The guy had the box and was doing a very you know kind of Professional paranormal investigation of the box where he pulled out a spirit box with it and did it in a k2 and a whole bunch of different things And he had a ghost meter pro and it was very interesting because he went all around it And there's one spot on the Dibbix box where he would put the ghost meter pro and it would light up And then he would pull it a little further away and it would be and it wouldn't you know It would go off and then he would put it back to the same spot And it would light up and go all the way around it and do different things and it kept lighting up And it was as I remember right it was like an old candy box You know, I mean probably eight inches by five inches by three inches not a very big box Not a very big box and it was sealed with wax It had the wax over it and everything else They had a they had an sb7 spirit box there and the spirit box You heard a woman's voice at least it sounded like a woman's voice to me that said let me out It's like you've got your your ghost meter pro is lighting up every time you get it close to the box You pick a box up and said I mean anytime he got the box close would light up And then this woman's voice saying let me out and I'm like yeah I'm gonna be burying that in the salt flats and this one seemed very credible didn't it?
Yeah, and it wasn't so much what he was doing at the time because it's like okay Yeah, you could fake that just to get responses It's what happened afterwards because he had like what two or three more episodes after it So he opens it and when he opened it, there was like it burnt Am I getting something mixed up? No, I think you're right there were a few things in there And so he sprinkled some holy water in it and when he sprinkled holy water in it The first couple sprinkles like it smoked you could see smoke coming out and you're like what? And then it caught on fire and he said it stunk too. Yeah, I said it stunk I think one that caught on fire.
I think that was a different one This one he just said it stunk but he opened it up and he's kind of looking around Well, then he puts the k2 meter back up by it and it's not lighting up anymore And so again, you're thinking oh, okay Yeah, you know just whatever bells and whistles he did to do this But then behind him he had his youtube plaque because youtube plaque for like a hundred thousand subscribers It falls off the wall and he was like whoa. Hey, yeah guys help us get our youtube plaque We're going for a hundred thousand as well. So then he left. Oh, and he yeah, he got spooked and he left And so you know and he went to a friend's home that night.
Yeah, and so then um he went back the next day He's like you can tell I just left because I left all my lights on he's like my electricity bill is gonna be sky high probably in california and then He goes back and he's videoing you know from the outside And he's like my lights are back on in that room I did not leave those lights on and then you can see a shadow walking back and forth and he's like There's nobody in there. What is that shadow? I kind of wanted to ask your opinion on that actually From I was reading with diddocks in general, you know, I kind of associate them with demonic entities But it sounds like in geosmithology a lot of times they're viewed as dislocated souls of a dead person that are capable of possessing others And causing problems is it possible to actually trap a human soul in an object like that? Is it possible for a human soul to possess another body if it's not a demonic entity?
I don't know. I would like human souls are attached to objects. So maybe like could you make it happen? You could probably make it happen, but you know demonic entities the way they talked about it on the couple of the and I'm getting somebody's videos mixed up but the way they talk about it it sounds like Like even with the big box we talked about earlier And some of these was that they just had this really nasty entity that they were somehow able to trap to trap in boxes I guess that I know I'm sorry to interrupt you But just along the same line really quick before I forget I know that these demonic entities want to have a body so bad That's why there's so many haunted dolls and haunted masks because they will go into anything that replicates I kind of emulate a human like oh look.
It's a mask. That was just close as I can get That was kind of what I was trying to reconcile in my mind is you know What a human soul attempt possess another human soul, you know, I'm gonna spirit try to do that or you know, are we just? Labeling these things even though they're demonic entities. Oh, yeah, it's like a bad spirit I think a human spirit who's had a body.
I don't know that it would want to Right, I'm not saying that they couldn't I just think the nature of them. Well, and part of that is coming from our culture Okay, that's true and the jewish culture may be a little bit different because there was also I saw snippets of a Movie that was done in the 1920s or 30s called the divot And it was a jewish, you know, it's part of the jewish heritage american film things and they were showing some things and it was the a young a young bride that had you know that she was pregnant I believe and her her boyfriend her husband had died And she was actually going to the cemetery. She was at the cemetery in this scene and there was another Person there and I don't know if it was a person person or entity entity You know and they're talking about the possession of the body and that you know, it was her intention You know to have his soul come and be with her in her soul And so kind of where you were asking kind of you know soul possessing another soul or something Especially where there would be in this case, you know her that was her desire was to be with her to have her husband soul with her Right and again, I'm not trying to say I know a lot about jewish Mythology or culture along this line, but that was the way it was represented in this part of the film That wasn't it wasn't represented as like a demonic entity per se it was like basically the yeah The displaced spirit of your husband and you're kind of like hey, yeah, and she's thinking yeah come on back We can be together from my body and so my kind of thoughts on that if I go into the doctrine of my religion I don't know that I mean I do believe that if a human spirit chooses to stay here and not cross over not move on I think they can be coerced and threatened by those demonic entities by those type of threes You know but that comes down to their agency, you know, I'm gonna let this demonic entity push me around and and Intimidate me and tell me what to do and threaten me and scare me. I don't know that it I don't know that it came on good But I guess if you're if you're easily intimidated well good in it Or if you open yourself up to it, you know It's that idea of opening an invitation for that other entity whether it's a passed on to come into and when I say possess Right you I mean maybe it's not possession in the way we think of demonic possession I'm just influenced even away.

I just it was one of those things where I was trying to reconcile that in my mind is From the Jewish lore it seems like it's almost a human that is malicious a human spirit But with this divock box story that came out in 2001 Definitely is just screaming demonic entity. They like to have others do their stuff So and that that is an advanced paranormal slash wisps classification and it came about because Raven scared this poor little lady Wait, we we fixed it and she calls she calls me just to chat now.

And I don't know if that comes down to power of suggestion, psychosomatic, right? Is it is it truly haunted or is it now haunted because we perceive it as haunted and people put their own intention to it? Right do people you know, you notice bad things happen and you go I've got to be from that darn divot box because I know it's haunted, right?
I don't know it's uh I thought it was interesting just to see how How big this story has been and this is like 20 years later where reportedly he comes out and he was like, oh Funny joke, right? You know, or is it right or is it but you know, then you talk about all these other examples I mean, that's that's one example of a divot box But even if that story is fictional doesn't make every other divot box not true not true I don't know. I don't want to go So we're just doing the regular the regular spooky house tour You can bring like your recorder or something to your own haunted spooky tour.
