*Dying Of Thirst*

from Have You Ever One-dered?? · host wheres.chloe.media

We’re back on the albums again! Part TWENTY THREE, 80-71. - This week features Kendrick Lamar, The Replacements, Erykah Badu, and seven other artists to continue this massive undertaking. Hmm, who else could there be? ;) - When do we EVER have time for Poetry Time on Albums eps anymore? Here’s the written version for you: - Today’s Poetry Time ____________________________________________________ We got nothing done and the weekend was perfect. By Monday morning, we've barely made a dent in our weekend tasks. Things still need fixed, errands run, clothes put away, problems solved. Each weekend, we make a list and check off boxes until the human instinct to enjoy kicks in. Then we relax, go outside, find coffee shops and ice cream stands, pop up markets, walking trails. We visit parks and diners, say yes when invited to experience the world around us. At the end, we're full and happy and left with a long list, a lingering lie that maybe we should have delayed living until work was done. Only, we never do. And what a beautiful thing that is. To be so human that despite responsibility and often logic, we reach so desperately for joy. -by Hannah Ro ____________________________________________________ To honor the top 100 albums (and my favorite poet) **I planned to have** the poems for the rest of this series to all come from Mary Oliver :) However, I am switching to Hannah Ro for today because this poem touched me and is so appropriate after this tumultuous week. - ONLY 70 ALBUMS TO GO!!! My word. (It occurred to me recently that I’m really going to miss this project once we’re through.) Onward and upward we continue. - Oh it’s a major endeavor, alright. I’m going to try to listen to at least 10 albums a week for the rest of the year! Yeah, I’m not joking. Media, art, and entertainment publication Paste Magazine came out with a list of the 300 best albums and we’re going to go through them all! Well, I’m going to. And then we’re going to talk about it! Great tracks, themes, history, info, related artists, cultural context, personal experiences- they’re all going to play a part in these reviews. Totally stoked because I love music. (And a little intimidated! Because this is a lot to process) - If we keep up with an episode per week featuring 10 albums each, we’ll just about finish by the end of 2024. - Hold close all those important to you and take care of your mental health. Hope you have an amazing and restful weekend!! Stay safe- I’ll see you Monday, C :) -
