Developer – (Modularz / Los Angeles, CA) For our podcast today, we are happy to bring you a live recording from Developer‘s recent gig in Paris, France. Developer is one of a few remaining DJ/Producers that emerged from the Los Angeles techno scene in the early 1990′s. After ending his residency as a DJ on radio station 88.7FM kspc in 1995, Developer co-founded and managed the first dedicated techno distribution company on the west coast ” Entity Music Distribution ” which distributed legendary labels such as Axis Records, Purpose Maker, Plus 8, Reload Belgium along with a wealth of techno label’s from Detroit, Chicago and Europe. For the last two decades Developer has performed along side many of the most respected techno talents from around the globe as well as taking part in laying a lasting foundation in the LA techno culture by producing events and exposing various first time domestic & international talents through out the mid 1990′s to the late 2000′s. Over the years Developer gained much of his acclaim and extensive performance history from his quick programming skills and powerful marathon sets by strongly supporting the momentum mixing style continuously pushing 40+ tracks per hour on 3 turntables with effect processor and sampler. Developer’s current approach on the advanced DJ/Performance come’s naturally with the evolution of technology using computers and controllers combined with a strong long library of functional techno and house influenced tracks. Developer continues to thrive as one of the most interesting techno mixmasters from the Americas as well as the birth of his label Moduarz that features productions and remixes from some of his early contemporaries in Los Angeles as well as a hand full of selected talents both established and emerging from around the world.
