Alright, should we do an intro? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Do my left, left, left, left, left. No, not there Phil, that's right.
Welcome, welcome, welcome to Do My Left Insert topic, The Lockdown Editions. The occasionally profound but always profane, one hour person unsentable, shout-out by five guys, sat on Zoom these days because it's not that long. I'm okay now, I've got a gas BBQ. My name is Josie and I'd like to introduce to my four friends.
We've got apples here. Hi, how? Shumping on some popcorn. Tom's in the shape.
Hello, Tommy. Hi, I'm trying to get into a bottle. I can't, it's these. Phil's here, although he just flapped himself out.
Banned it. And Miggas has come to get a drink late for the start of the podcast. We've been equenced for the last two and a half hours. I love that he's managed to make himself late just like he was already on time for.
Yeah, been there for three hours. Alright, so it's got to be, if we need to insert lockdown topics basically, just to please Gucci, who's now a new fan of the podcast. Oh, I'm sure. You can see that on the insert.
Yeah. It was funny. It was funny. The man that I came on for, my average with debut.
Oh, wow. I was his son. Well, Gucci was always a left midfielder, wasn't he? He was my dorm.
Really? Okay. He was always a good left midfielder, Gucci. What was he, no, he would have been, yeah, he might have been left me.
He was when we both played at the same time. He was better than Anis and he used to sort of drag Anis as his friend into the twos. I'm awesome. I don't remember any speed of this.
He was a good player. He was good, but yeah, he did play those. Yeah. Cool.
So, he never played for me. He was playing on the team this way, and I was playing country. Yeah, he was too fast. Yeah, he moved up in the second or second.
Anyway, lockdown topics. Two by left insert topic. Tommy's always got one. Well, we drinking.
We got one. Oh, yeah. I'm waking protocol. Sorry.
I'm waking protocol. I'm drinking. I'm drinking rose petal liqueur. I can get into it.
It's very close. It tastes like rosewater. It's more like rosewater. So, like Turkish delightful.
Oh, I like Turkish delightful. Oh, I like Turkish delightful. Oh, I like Turkish delightful. It's been sat on my shelf for years.
And now I can't get into it. That's a lie. You're in a new house. Sat on a shelf.
Did you Instagram your new shelves? No, no, no. I only did the table. You can do that.
If you want me to. Yeah, please. Do it next week. I mean, the amount of alpha Instagram content that you would make of it.
You would make of it out. You're talking about something. Yeah. It's your topic.
Mings go on topic ready. Check it to them. No, no, no. Why are we drinking?
It's like Apple's like a ginger. Oh, standard. Can a strong mo? Can I go wrong?
I've been drinking this since about three o'clock this afternoon. Yes. Sorry. It's probably my seventh-faked camera.
Oh, no. You know. Batch is gold. I'm on my fifth can of the day.
Is that from Hara Pajuk? Do you want me to send you some pupper cider for you? Fucking mouth out. Huh?
Someone send you some pupper cider. No, you're right, thanks, mate. Fair enough. You've worked, Niki.
Oh, well, I'm not sure. You've worked, Niki? Oh, well, currently I'm cycling three different drinks. So I've got this hit flask with Arminac from a ski holiday that I've only just discovered.
I discovered this today. And Borne's just brought me an invisible... I've got the looks of it. I've also got another hit flask on...
Sherry on the go as well. So you're literally triple-path? A little bit. Yeah.
I'm not downing any of those. Well, I'm drinking a lot of water. I'm not going to be a little bit too much. I'm not going to be a little bit too much.
I'm not going to be a little bit too much. I'm not going to be a little bit too much. I'm not going to be a little bit too much. I'm not going to be a little bit too much.
If you're thinking... Well, I haven't actually watched the book by its cover. Alice didn't want to drink it because it's taking shit. I brought it because it had a cricket.
Fuck. I had the good way to have your own snack. That was a guy with me too. Me too.
So I panicked. So I just went for a cricket. I'm in. Yeah.
I made it in. Yay! Tell me who's in hislife. Oh my God.
If he is or's by Maiga, birthday present. And I saw some wine with a cyclist on it. It was like Tour de France wine. I bought it for you.
There was anybody unwrapped it. It was fucking Chilean wine? Like it was like a French! I wasn't like it!
Except I bought it for you. Well, no, for that exact reason. I was just like, oh, so they've properly sold out. So the Tour de France chose a Chilean wine because the basic letter, and I was just like, ah, so I actually gave TDF shit on social media by choosing a Chilean wine rather than a fine wine.
But yeah, that was beautiful. I thought that was a beautiful... Hey, I did it. I just assumed it was French.
It was fucking white wine. It was good, though, wouldn't you? Yeah, it was fucking France with their wine bullshit. Well, according to Gordon Fred and Jean, that sounds like the Americans are making some of the better wines compared to all of them.
I quite like that, Prokam. It's not too bad. I'm going to get into it. It looks fucking pretty.
It's like, it's not that many episodes, but it is funny as well. It's kind of that type of game. It's really good. Yeah.
It's just they bounce off each other, I don't know. They're good personalities in that sense. You need to come and talk to the car then. Well, you know, but all good content, you need good chemistry between a bit of voice.
Yeah, really. Gladys topic. Really? You need each other's words?
Yeah. So I am getting to the point. So as I said, I finally just catch up on Breaking Bad. I finally got all the way up to date with Better Call Sol.
Me too. Now, whenever you're in the battle, you just remind me of the old dude. Yeah, it's the best. It's the best.
I'm not a technical soul. Only what's the first episode of the series? Oh, I need to do the catch up. Yeah, I'm not a single-level series.
I'm not a single-level series. I'm not a single-level series. The same five series of it already. So I'm like, no, I can't be bothered.
Nah, I'm so good. Definitely prefer a better cool soul, so Breaking Bad. Yeah, no expected. I don't think it's got the production value that got.
And the budget. Maybe that's why I thought it's true. I think the count is about the characters. Yeah, the characters are different.
Yeah, generally by the end, I hated him. I hated the wife. I hated the wife. I think, like, I hated the wife's plastic surgery.
Yeah, no. No, not to sound like Miguel, but I think the female characters were better. No, but I think the female characters are better rounded. They've got more depth than not just one-dimensional character.
They're not just bit parts. Breaking Bad. They were bit parts, or they had these kind of narrative arcs, which just sort of just fell off the fucking cliff. They didn't be asked.
They could be asked a bit. But like, is it Kim? What's his girlfriend called in? Kim Whesler.
Kim Whesler is a proper good character in Better Call. She was awesome. She does some awesome stuff coming off as well, when you finally get to this scene. I feel like as well you've done it the right way, you're actually just watching it straight in, because I think there's a lot of characters coming back in, Better Call Saul from Breaking Bad.
You don't remember? Yeah. Yeah, you sort of have to, you want a Wikipedia kind of, how important are they? Yeah.
But we've watched it all over the month for the half-two months. No, the fact two months I've said maybe. So yeah. You have a discussion.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Just got for all of them. Sorry, yeah.
We've told me that. Succession is great. Succession is great value. It's fucking funny.
Alp are you through it now, mate? I have just heard the, um, Stagby, which is amazing. Is it just a comedy? No.
Oh, it's a weird mix. It feels a bit like, um, the thick of it. And well, it's written by the guy who did Peep Show and Freshman. OK.
Yeah. Randomly. So there was a comedy aspect to it, but it's funny in the same way Sopranos or the Wire was funny. Yeah.
OK. Yeah. It's not on top of it. Yeah.
But there's some kind of that. I don't know why, because I love comedy. It was, I proper struggle with, but actually, 99 is the closest thing I've come to watching a series comedy, like religiously, much of all, but everything else. I just struggle with comedy.
No, no, no, no. I just don't agree watching it. Just don't. Oh, no.
We've just... First series is the best series. First series is the new series to come out. So we need to...
Yeah. Let Damien Jek get together. It gets a bit... It's still good.
His references are, like, Andy Sandberg does, I don't know, Boyle's, the best humour. His references are good. His references are like, Ah, Ree Mitt. They're all sort of R.
H, if you know what I mean, He's written by like, or even thought you were old. Yeah. I've just been watching the one where they're doing all these, they're trying to sort out their wedding. And they're just like, oh, these are, these are, these are nuptials.
These are nuptials. And they're cake that's like the die-hard cake. What, like the Nakatomi buildings? Yeah.
There's loads of die-hard references. It's the most reference film. I've only watched the other episode. I've been re-watching Community because you're in lockdown.
You can't even hear me online. I've been watching Community. I've watched it. I've watched series three, but it is...
series one was really good. Series two was fucking atrocious. Series three is better. Series two was terrible.
I skipped quite a few of them. I haven't even seen it. I've seen it. Season three is amazing.
Season three is amazing. Which one is the really? Oh, Season three. Oh, Season three seems to have forgotten about Brita.
It seems to be, it's like they were like, my Brit is not that good at character. So they've barely written her into any episodes. Oh, I don't know. I'm re-watching Season three at the moment.
I think Brita's got some great lines in it. It seems to be more about Addie in the Season three. I'm going to... Oh, I'm going to see what it's going to say.
I watched the Christmas one today. Yeah, I saw that one. A few weeks ago. A few weeks ago.
Honestly, I thought Season two took a real nose dive. I was just like, I was bored by half of the episodes of Season two. You can tell by Season three he's falling out with Chevy Chex. Yeah, he's not in it as much at the moment.
You can tell that Harlan's really falling out with Chevy Chex. Yeah, I'm at the bit where he's... He only has a few lines each episode of Chevy Chex. But what I find really interested is the Russo brothers that made it.
They went on a made-up Avengers End game and stuff like that. Oh, I've literally just watched in the last week two Russo brothers films. So, 21 Ridges with Chex with Chex Roseman. You know, Wakanda forever.
Chadwick Roseman, sorry. And there's the one just came out of Netflix, which is basically a statement film, but with Chris Hemsworth called it extraction. And it is fucking brilliant to be there. The action, the action in it.
I mean, the story's like it's been done a thousand times before, but the actual action scenes, it's the best advancement in action films I've seen. Or in fights scenes, it's probably what Bourn did. So, it's like, it's probably there with the raid and stuff like that. Oh, you've got to go Chumwick, surely.
It's as good as Chumwick to be there. It is. Yeah, it's not like that. John Wick was a set pieces.
Oh, no, don't get me wrong. Extraction is set pieces. I mean, the rest of it is just filler, but there's a cost of phobia to it, which you didn't get. And I don't think with John Wick, you actually feel the pain.
You are completely out there in some kind of ultimate universe. I'm getting short or stabbed. You never felt that. I don't think movies always do that very well anyway.
Even if you think of, and it's probably really bad comparison, but you think things like Lord of the Rings. They're meant to be really struggling. It's like, you don't kind of feel that way. I've got to go with his film.
That was so hard. I was so sort of always worked because it was the title. It was a bit tongue-in-cheek. He doesn't die.
He doesn't get hurt. He carried it all day. It was almost a joke in itself. But part of it was he was like, you know, getting steadily more injured throughout each version of it.
But you always felt there was a realistic kind of pain function to the diagrams until the fifth, and then it lost the way. Yeah, exactly. I think they were still tongue-in-geek, it was die-hard. I think they were more aware of it than other movies, weren't they?
Yeah, yeah. I don't know. It was in four when he shoots himself to shoot the guy. Yeah, it was fucking tough.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And that was, yeah. Shoper is a shot there. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. That, that, that, four was ridiculous because it's, so he takes down a helicopter with a taxi, then he takes down a jump jet with a lorry. Then he shoots himself and you're like, this is ridiculous, but amazing.
You went to see that film together after a night out in Snobs, didn't we? We went to Snobs on the Saturday night. You're talking to me? Yeah, sorry, I'm pointing for which he's random.
You went out for the purpose of homelessness. I remember going, when I was living in that flathead ball. We went out to Snobs all night and then on the Sunday, we went over to the Cinnabar and watched it on the Sunday and then like a Mexican meal. Yeah.
It was all good. I thought it was all right. It was just, but yeah, there's never, I don't know, it's like Tricia, but they never do, no, not very many films to the proper. It's wearing you down kind of damage.
Yeah. Yeah. I think that's the superhero, uh, you know, it's almost like crossover into your action films now. And that's why the thing, what really works with extraction is that Hemsworth sort of threw that film, shook off the superhero aspect of it.
And now he's a bone-of-body action star. And I know he's done action before. Which Hemsworth? Chris, the big one.
The big one. Yeah. Liam, is Liam full? No, Chris is.
Chris Hemsworth, or yeah. The other ones are one in Westworld. I can't remember. No one, no one, no one.
Dave. I don't know. Dave. I don't know.
I know that Hemsworth's film that I thought was really good and surprised me. I feel, and I don't normally like American war movies in that they're quite propaganda-y too much. Yeah. And it's a 13-strong one where they're the first ones in Afghanistan and they're used to the horses.
I thought it was a really good film. I really liked that. I know what you mean by not saying that. Yeah.
That's our Netflix, isn't it? Yeah, it's just been on Netflix. I was kicking past it, like, every time. And then I was like, actually, I'm going to sit and watch it.
And I was like, actually, it really was really good. Netflix are doing some decent action films. Did you watch, is it Final Frontier with Ben Affleck in as well? And the guy from Sons of Anarchy, Charlie, whatever.
That's really good as well. Carly Hundham? Yeah, same kind of deal that is to 13-strong. They're a bit flag-wavy, but they're bloody good.
Is that the one with Ben Affleck? And they do like a heist or some drugs or something? Yes, yes, that's the one. I have a watch that, is that any good?
It's bloody brilliant. Yeah, no, it's a proper good three star. Yeah. Well, rounded three stars.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, pretty much. What's it called? If I say to Bridget, she won't watch any of these Netflix films, she can't do it. She doesn't have the attention span for it.
But we could put a few of them. And she'll binge four episodes. I'm like, I'm going to just watch four hours of a series when you can't watch an hour. Yeah.
Oh, it's too complicated. Like, you've looch. Yeah. And we'll have to watch the, like, we'll appeal to Leanna bit as well.
So we just started watching Outer Banks, which is like about 18. Actually, it's about, it's in North Carolina in America. And if you look on a map of North Carolina, it's got this island, there's a really skinny island down the front of it. Anyway, Google maps it.
But it's just funny. I think that it's an Netflix source who did one called Ozart, which is like a really interesting geographical place in Arkansas. I'm not sure if you're going to do anything. And it's just like, it's just really funny that all these Netflix things seem to be around parts of America that haven't been on TV or movies.
Yeah. Yeah. Try to put these places on the map, aren't they? There was an onion headline about Ozark saying, men and women don't agree on watching anything.
So, agree to watch Ozark, enjoying the map. Yeah. It's good. I like that.
I can't really do it. It's not amazing. But it's really big. It's really big.
I think that's what they're doing by the joke is that it's not good. It's not bad. It's literally just right there. It's good.
It's good. Mine's not being watchable. What's the premise? What's the premise?
He's an accountant for the hospital. No, I've got one person interested in it. I've never seen it. It's almost like a 26th first two episodes.
Excuse me. Someone said the account for the mob. That's the start. No, no, no.
I've engaged already. He's basically someone who, he's just a wiz with long doing cash, basically. And he gets involved in something with his business partner, which puts him in the pocket of the car sale. He then tries to escape the car sale by moving throws.
It then spirals out of control to the point where he then has to convince the car sale, not to kill him and that he can do a good job to basically him opening the casino and literally going full deep with the car. And honestly, it's good. There's a lot of, I thought you'd like it because there's the weight. There's like, there's kind of a bit of a son's of anarchy.
You know, you've got the hillbillies and you've got like these factions, a little bit, a little bit, a little elements of it. But then there's a lot of political stuff. So like, to get the casino to get the licenses and a bit of politics and money and who they've got to rub up the right way and these things. So it's good.
And there's a lot of, but then there's a lot of things as well. Like, in the first series, there's this old boy and it was just an amazing character. It's a famous actor by the company. No, it's good.
It is really good. But yeah, it's, it's one of those stories where the more they try and get out of it, the people they get in it. Yeah, yeah. And there's only going to be one answer and you're like, fuck surely, like, something's going to be a little bit of a guy.
He does sound like that. Yeah, actually, I think it's like the cannons. Any movies, are there any movies in it? Is there a tactic?
Any, I don't know, there's definitely some sex. Not, we don't make it. Not matter what's in that spot. The guy that lives on his own.
Any movies? It's not mentioned, I was coming. No, it's not American. No, it's not American.
It's an incredible question. Well, talking about these guys, it's so exciting. A series we never talk about is Vikings. Like, do you guys like Vikings?
I mean, like I've never watched two series of it and got a little bit, just, it's sort of, it was going around in circles a bit. Yeah, my mum really liked it. You like me. I think it's brilliant.
I did really like it. But then, yeah, it's just like, I get around in circles and I was a bit like, uh, what, did they do this last series and then I got a bit confused. Yeah, I remember you being into it, Phil. Yeah, yeah, as I said, I watched the first two series and then.
I might do that. I was thinking about lockdown and getting into the sense of anarchy because that was, it's been looking at me. Yeah, some of the mannequies. So, there's just those, the things with sense of anarchy is, as I said, much like most big series, there's a couple of, like, you know, five episodes, you think a lot, a lot of, a lot of, it's happening.
But it's just a, there's a couple of massive moments in, in, in, sense of anarchy that just, honestly, they're up there with the biggest moments in the shield and walking there. They really are. Honestly, one of my most emotional moments in every TV series has come from something that I think we're sure. Not red, you, don't read.
Different kind of emotions. Different kind of emotions. I just remember all the 9 and 3 line in Sons of Anarchy. That's the worst one.
That's literally the point I started watching. I was like, what's that about? Annoyingly. I need to keep going.
Yeah. I think weirdly, the thing I mentioned about like, it's one of the hardest moments is, is the series after that. Yeah. Okay.
I mean, there was a bit. There is a lot of that. I'm gently here. There is, there is a lot of, it's in there, like, crisis beginning to drag a bit, but I'm just sick with it.
And I think just purely for the fact the shield, all the shield characters, all of them in there. I started years ago and I couldn't take assistant director, Skinnies and Neo Natsy seriously. So I was sort of like, yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. They're all four as well. Yeah.
I bought the DVD. So I could get you to watch it, but I was so bad. She would have. This all for us.
So we just finished the first series. So what? The shield. She's like him.
I think to get Alice into that. Because she's obsessed with... She loves justified. It's one of her favorite box edges.
And that had Walton Goggins was the main one of the main characters in that as well. I think she quite likes Timothy, from Darlin. Sorry. So there you are.
Remember from the shield credits. Yeah, Walton. The proper character. Is it staff?
I think that's the shield and stuff. Who's the guy that writes the shield? I don't remember either, I think it is. Not sure, Ryder.
Even Ryder. He's called something like that. I'm going to do that. That's a bad though for him.
That's a bad thought. That's a bad thought. Has anyone seen power? No, is it good?
What's that? Power is all about a guy who makes money through selling drugs enough to own a nightclub and then wants to go legit. Can't go legit. It's all right.
I think they got a bit into the whole, oh, like, um, Game of Thrones is getting really violent. Let's get really violent. They follow trends throughout it, but that's not too bad. That's not too bad.
Let's not go. Let's just kill people. Yeah, that's really violent deaths. We want to get everyone talking about it.
Obviously, it's like this to the end of the day, but everything we watch at the moment, they try to make the protagonist a bit of an anti-hero or something like that. But then you end up just really not invested in it because you don't like the protagonist, which is something that I'm struggling with a lot of things at the moment. I just didn't give a fuck what happens to this character because they're a bellow. The Witcher was a bit like that, wasn't it?
I was in it. So I liked what you were doing. I would say that I never experienced by research because that was a book from a long time ago. And no, I think the Witcher, he is a good guy.
But yeah. The Witcher's great, but him and the acting in it is fucking appalling. Oh, I can't agree to him. It's so bad.
Yeah, he's so bad in it. He's just so bad in it. I enjoyed it, but he's a bad actor. He's a bad actor.
He's a bad actor. He's a bad actor. His wooden style or his non-emotional style, which is wooden, actually sits the way the Witcher is. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. It's sort of works because that's the Witcher is, yeah. It does look like there's a chance of it in the game, but yeah, from a two-point review, it's not it's Quinge watching it.
But yeah, I don't know. I'm a complete and lightweight point of view. Bulletproof is very entertaining. We watched the two series of that.
The Sky One big group. It's literally... You know, the night he wrote Football Factory in the business and all that kind of stuff. He watched Bad Boys and Bad Boys Two and thought, oh, I could do that in the UK.
I was a crotter. I was a crotter. I was a crotter. I was a crotter.
I was a crotter. I was a crotter. I was a crotter. I was a crotter.
I was a crotter. And now I want to watch it. Yeah. And it's Clark.
What's his name? Not Neil Clark. It's a non-clark. And the guy from the So Solid Group.
I can't remember anyone. And it's very entertaining. It's the most lightweight nonsense you've ever fucking seen. It's like an episode of The Bill, Straight With Bad Boys, which is very entertaining.
Has anyone from the Happy Mondays involved? In fact, I just Googled it. And Sean Ryder is the creator of the Shield. That sounds like why I liked the initial...
I can't remember what I called that. It's strikebacks. I liked the first time I was serious, because they didn't take themselves seriously. I started taking themselves seriously.
Yeah, my sort of one like that in my series like that at the moment. Is the rookies? Has anybody heard of that? He sounds like Amelie Cass with him.
He sounds like Ryan Fighlight. He's named A Fighlight and stuff like that. I'm not seen him. And he's like a middle aged rookie.
He's like a middle aged rookie in the LAPD. It's so ridiculous, every episode ridiculous. No, no, the film was made because of the series wasn't it? Oh, okay.
Yeah, but it's really good. I can't remember it's cool. Yeah Yeah Yeah But yeah, no, honestly, the rookie it's been two series in now and like I'm really I'm watching it on them The American websites to see if it's gonna get renewed for season three because it's like I can't I got after Oh I'll give it a go because it's one of them things on like sky living or something like you know No change you won't like it you're too pretentious to like it We've got a listener live in the studio and she's falling asleep R I reckon I could win I don't think you can I don't think you can do it You can match Jamesy doing deep John Lennon cuts or something like that or whatever you put up the other day Yeah on Instagram stories. I'm listening to John Lennon Getting The fact that fact you listen to George Harrison solo stuff I think says everything to you It's a lot down and at work I tell you what I tell you what I tell you what I'm doing is I'm enjoying working from home and not getting stressed about it and what I like to do in my days split the day into 45 minutes of working and 15 minutes Why do you speak like you're from a textbook?
I'm the Adam back some folks they talked about someone who's oh it was what's an even green wing who talked about they're working their way through the 500 albums or all time or so yeah You have to do that kind of stuff you have to like if you stuck in a place and you know that you're gonna be there You have to have like a functional way of doing it So I am deep in going deep into stuff like if someone recommends it on a podcast or on the radio station or something like that So that George Harrison themselves pass album. I thought actually that's quite a fucking good thing that resonates and I'm gonna share it on Instagram I didn't do it for potential reasons I did it because I Know Well then you yeah We didn't really jump and then we end up just as Phil and don't you are both low from very slow? So what we're doing is we started up now one Through After years Know a lot of 60s a decent amount of 70s times the 90s so 80s is a big black hole from I Didn't We've got to I can't we said that a minute and a half two minutes even if we both can't fucking send it we have to get Two But you have to listen to the first Yeah By the 80s pop got very disposable so things don't like the 60s and 70s that there was only like the greatest it says it were in the green Where things became a commodity in the 80s, you know buying album or vinyl and stuff is a was cheaper So like things now get played and then they've forgotten about in a year's time apart from you know your great It's got a while at last at a year. Yeah, what you want apples now what number?
I Have you seen Rocketman yet that was a fucking amazing I Know it proper move me I thought it was a proper But it was a good film I mean but he raps he was fucking awful Yeah, exactly where a rocket man was a proper proper film yeah Really And Is the is the better version of all those But I wouldn't want feel to No, no, it's a really a version about that's more a sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry But that's more like a jukebox movie, right? I finally understand what Gen Z saying directed by blah blah blah blah so when I say like directed by Andrew Blake It's also that rule about For years that I've now understand what I've been playing the newest We can tell it's been a while if you're playing Honestly the movie I I'm doing like We watch that we were over it you're I'm playing why we Well, it was a hybrid and she were helmet and other bits It was too long ago to remember why but I was slow is it a hybrid? I'm sure it's a fixer. She's a fixer.
Yeah, I don't know something about it One that she's in as a robot ex machima. Yeah Yes, we've been so you know David's what yeah, the ginger fella doesn't first know well They never do Ten minutes I'm finally got an opportunity I'm going to take that what was that director again me? Oh, yeah, no, I don't need to ask me about that. It's been talking about for you I Director I get apparently it's not easy to constantly pretend to be Sad ahead my way.
Let's just say that every day that is way a large array of it's cuz Shane Oh, I don't how do you leave? Why did you leave? I Black I Yeah, what that was the worst thing about the England football kit moving from unbroken on because that over About a third of their fucking workforce Even Was Unbroken sort of does shit championship or Yeah No, man Not long to go over but yeah, he was a big he was a big umberman and then yeah, he kind of left and So it's all right The whole like beautiful kit thing. I don't want to get to Ellis James on it But there's not been as many there's been a few recently Nigeria I think it's hips or someone.
There's like um, oh no, no, sorry. It's not tall. It's an Italian like Vision one side or something. So they literally they got their kit They got their sort of primary school to do a competition and like draw this kit and it's like this weird bird of like a rainbow across the blue sky And they legitimately made this like You want your Good Any sash kind of kit looks better Oh The blue and red It's like the even cricket team that 2019 woke up kit that light blue It was in Yeah When because was it around then the England were like it was you blame white?
Oh, no, so basically English well cricket is always are we talking about the cricket kids? Yeah, yeah So cricket has always been white and that's the tradition like we want to mutinist stuff like that Yeah, as soon as you brought in day night cricket as in floodlight cricket then you can't favor red ball Yes, we have a white ball which is that you have to play with pajama cricket is what they call That connection it was because of the white ball So that's why everyone picked a color and that's why that is a lovely football kit to be fair. Can you put that on the two by left? Instead?
Fuck yeah, that's the way it could Yeah Piscama Okay, the fishermen team The one thing from the ellish james shortlist or whatever shortlist it was on BBC when they went to the museum and yeah, it was their adidas just do adidas or capper do the best kits and the rest of them Like latzio when some of the lats is a capper allow for creativity. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know I can just go for what will sell Yeah, but the three strike works with an You know like that kind of arsenal like early night is kit and like baggy kits looks shit tight kits look better. It's just Or now Yeah, yeah on people in the stadium they look worse And it was like oh yeah, you're worried about corona and it was basically it's brazilian bait win a corona t-shirt went to get cals That's the kind of shit You know the 96 England the wake it the great kit I remember that being advertised because it looked good with jeans that was Yeah Get a good fucking bookball game Great Yeah I Did like a column that the cotton was like and it was the whole idea was it was the meant to be that you can just wear on and I out it's like no Right, I haven't worn a football.
Yeah Well, no, I guess we'll let you get into a pub if you're wearing a sports color Well, I was out on a I think it was a Friday night and I was wearing my sister's university rugby shirt and I was about to walk into a bar in London And I'm like oh is that a sport shirt and I was like I mean you say sport. It's a university rugby team and they're like We're not sure where we stand on that and I was like well speak to your manager I was like I can have a word and they're like We're just gonna take a decision and say no I was just like a bunch of dickids because no one in this A flying fuck about university rugby teams. I was like are you are you are you fucking mental? I'm not a big spender.
I mean at most I'll spend 15 to 80 quid and I'll like out but fuck you know Making a Rugby shirt. They decided to go. Oh no. We feel this might cause controversy Like a dick.
Nick. Nick. If you've got this controversial view that people working on the door aren't intelligent people No, I'm just almost impressed though that they thought of you as an individual briefly and then we're like Yeah This is if it can't work out Like just my definition the stadium allows mixing like Rugby fans a rugby university people don't have the best reputation. Yeah.
Yeah, because no rugby players go out on and start fighting There was a brilliant one on Danny care in With the It was on the rugby property was about inferno's me. Oh, yeah They got kicked out of inferno's they were getting kicked out of inferno's here And I don't know if you mentioned the other rugby player, but another quid split and anyway They started having a bit of a play fight on the stairs and threw each other down the stairs. Yeah, I don't know if you remember I they used to be a fish tank at the bottom of the stairs anyway, they smashed into that They're no longer a fish tank in I'm sorry, how are you dealing with just the lack of social interaction? I go like Um, yeah, I Well, I've got plenty to do.
Yeah, I don't and I think yeah, I think being in the house with somebody 24 seven I probably get a bit you know the whole Ellison John thing where they're just like being stuck around someone all that time like bent those annoyances Oh massively Oh one or two of them Yeah On the most two days She's probably in a Fucking lovely Yeah Because there's a fucking hole in the middle why would why would that be useful? Well at the time I don't think anything else is really pretty this is a great hit flask But it goes by your hip yep and they're angled slightly I went with pretty Yeah, my own Put your hand in and then at least that way you're not gonna spill it No, it's a car company. It's really like a hike because you just sort of hold it and you weird check Yeah, and then you get smashed so drunken master Coquering Coquering in an effort not to let Tom off the hook because he's very good at escaping it Tom. You've had two dates over zoom It was gonna be changing for a while so it wasn't like Yeah, it was all right.
I think I don't know. I've heard people talk about zoom dates being really awkward because you're like Oh, I got go and then I Where do you got go? You can't really end a day. I need a shit.
Yeah But I did it's I mean I could stay on that I just want to find out about you right now. Um, where is this girl like you all in? Oh, thanks. I'm sorry, so you've been trying to her for a while In chatting for yeah They're like chatting away.
No, it's saying girls Um He's got two screams that he's muting one and then working on answering the same question. Okay, like a Nicholas Lindeur's sitcom I would watch that Nicholas Lindeur's in love Like one of his zoom dates is in the night in court I I don't think blue tooth is the problem I need a drink. Oh, can we put your member apples on a previous podcast drank some random shit. Yeah Yeah, I'm gonna put it on my stories to turn off them.
Okay about this bottle for a while What's it fight what? I would say it says I don't know what that fourth letter is I think it's probably um German or Austrian It's it's mid vodka. It's mid vodka Oh, hold on. Yeah Can someone I'm gonna googoo what I'll do it afterwards.
No one's for it. Yeah I've watched my not drink here. Right. We're live on Instagram apparently It's fair watching fail Makes me shit it Where I got it from but I'd say Austria I love the way like me Migs background is sort of on the moon That's brilliant Apples Apples is in good That was the worst Instagram life Well, I haven't heard your latest ones have been that great Have you listened to any of the Tim Key?
Whatever it's called her tree No, I haven't no it's really I only started listening to it in the last couple of days like Adam bucks and recommended it It's it's only 15 minutes for that really good. Have you seen um I was looking the Ricky Gervais one on Netflix. I haven't seen after like yet. No, I really Watching with her watching with her again.
It's disgusting. We uncomfortable Anything he's done in a while Derek was awful and put me off Really bad and it was nasty as well. We had this kind of like the jokes not you haven't got the joke You haven't found you haven't located the joke there, you know A bit embers new clothes is it like Oh, if you don't get it then you're like you can't see the joke It's like you know when you get a really cunty Guardian columnist who thinks he's like Corbin is like oh, he's basically I literally did it He did an article this week about how saying that Uh the the the Tories going out and clapping on Thursday eight o'clock Is an insult to all NHS workers because they haven't provided the right ppe They're going you clickbait Corbin is fucking little banking That's it the two things can exist at the same time if the minister didn't go out and clap eight o'clock that you will be having to go at that So don't have a go at doing that You're just trying to segregate the left and right the same way that trump is doing it really problems politics Shouldn't be like that. That's the thing No, no, but that's the thing there is some of the loudest voices are the divisive elements of it at the moment There is a middle ground which people like here so I'm at this on and there and people like that Where we need to know No, we need to We have to do But that kind of bipolar fucking yeah anyway, sorry Who do like reasonably?
Up in NHS but also advisors in a lot of this and they take um Like it really personally the media is like a tack on this country's response to the whole thing Um, and they've done the best they can they've absolutely tried that hard It's like there are people who have backed up in in politics, but it there's a lot of people taking it really personally the whole Yeah, the media just going oh you could have done this and you couldn't find sites Can you imagine how well or badly this country would have done if they weren't filing Yeah And you're like fucking out that's what happens when you have no fucking government and it is literally a what it is now the fucking wild west out in America America was always the one that's yeah, and it always has been you would have thought a farmer would have gone right centralize everything and then fucking listen to the experts And sort of orchestrate something at the moment. She's talking about his ratings and today he just tweeted about triple h 25 years in the wwe Anything else to be doing mate Spain doing no this I like because there was talks about Spain being worse than Italy I genuinely think Spain is As far as it stands they're talking about pulling away restrictions, which is which is a new job I don't know what stage they're at um to be honest like my family is kind of seven steps removed because they're like up in the north and whatnot Yeah, I was gonna say Vigo does all right Yeah, however like my cousin who fixes robots for a living He's yeah, about a he's the working however. He's high risk. Um, so he's got like a degenerative Disease essentially, but they've never essentially turned around and said to him.
Well because so the whole um, what's it called? furlough No, no furlough in Spain only works for businesses that have had to close down a hundred percent So his business hasn't closed down, but he's high risk So he has to turn up until the business decides to not allow him to work So he has to stay sit in it in order You mean the studies term and just didn't create billions of pounds out of the way Yeah Always actually so the quantity of ironically they've claimed the Inception of the furlough Um, and they've got oh, yeah, so like all of these European countries are copying us because you come up with the system However, they've decided that if a company can still operate you're not allowed to furlough any percentage of your stuff That's that's insane though. Hey, because there's so many tiny businesses that they can only stay afloat by having like maybe two people in body Yeah, so no they get me wrong like His business is a large business. I mean, it's it's a it's a massive fishing canning Industry and it's it's the biggest one in bucket call it Europe.
I don't even know it's fucking So he's in charge of keeping the canning robots Doing nothing Okay, okay. Yeah, um So, I mean he's he's got a genetic disease that means that if he gets anything he will probably die What I mean, yeah But his business cannot furlough workers because they're still technically operating so they've told him If you can find a doctor that can sign you off, please Let him sign you up. Yeah, and then there's like you're Spain and different countries working differently So like my company has furlough Let's say 20% of our workers everyone else is still doing what they can Uh, however in Spain if you work for a company that is still technically operating you can't follow anyone My day like the whole lockdown. I do feel quite lucky about like moving into a new house When you like It's almost a perfect time for it Things that have been really unfortunate.
I still don't have a sofa. I am getting one next week. I think nice What's that? Oh, it's a more I can't get it delivered or within yeah I can't look coming and I can't deliver certain things while I'm making my own So if it requires a I'm so Um, so yeah, and I need it because because I'm a basement flat and it's a bit like an awkward corridor So And but I went on the other day Have a look at I was showing some people like the sofa that I had ordered and couldn't get And then was like, yes, this one and then I noticed that there was like a blue Order sign next bit.
It's like a gray or blue and I was like, oh, I can try and order it This was after about six years. I was like, yeah Oh, I'm gonna get extra covers and all the time I'd like drop the grand like So yeah, but I look legit like so I ordered a wardrobe from Oh, yeah, and 400 quid of it No 600 quid of it Um, they couldn't deliver the doors the casings and I was like wait a second So I could only get the the guts so that the drawers the bits that pull out the shoe coverings and whatever I was like, well What the fuck? So the the wardrobe would of cost me 914 pounds So I was like, what the fuck? So I ordered You want to do the investment?
There we go. We're gonna start the living in so close to people I mean, what more did you buy? And they go the fucking narnia? What the fuck?
So they refused to I can order the box which is clearly the easiest bit to construct Um So I got in touch with full um timber told him I need this this and that all I got to do is cut it into the right shape So I I still ordered the guts which was the the shelving's the drawers and whatever else For the wardrobe that cost me 200 quid so I've saved myself 600 quid Um, and then the sheet material so the wood cost me a further 200 quid technically I've saved Over 500 quid on a fucking wardrobe Honestly, would you would you be able to do this is I genuinely don't know how good your DIY skills are Would you be able to do it at the same quality that you get like as you said like just an idea thing Up the way you're in your craftsmanship So the things I'm going to struggle with so all the straight lines. I'm going to put them at the back of the wardrobe So no one gets to see So actually the machine bits are going to be at the front so I reckon I'll get a pretty good finish The only difference is how an Ikea wardrobe is rounded at the edges That's that's the bit I haven't done but I could probably can I could if I wanted to do with a sander Round it You get like those plastic fucking things that go on the end anyway Fucking back on you Sharp edge off I could Yeah Not much my desk is made of I guess the thing is normally you're paying for the the hours you're wasting to build it but when you're not doing anything anyway They're not wasting money. Are you? So does it exactly I'm getting paid to do it anyway I said sorry, I'm the best we can't deliver.
I was like what what bits no like oh the casings I was like all right faket I'll order the casings from the sheet material manufacturer anyway And then so I made the measurements and I talked them into the system and actually this fuck all in it All right, so sheet material is This way it's this height and You truck in what you want. Oh, yeah, what do you forgive my ignorance sheet? What do you mean by sheet? We will forgive it.
