Send us Fan MailLet’s ChatA passionate entrepreneur and scientist, a fierce advocate for transparency, Dr. V. demystifies the trends and myths in the health and wellness space, the dos and don'ts. She talks about the chemistry of everyday life and how the environment, our lifestyle, and the product we consume affect our health and that of our planet; the good, the bad, and the wasteful.Dr. Mireille Vega became a chemist & member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) because she struggled with her skin as a teenager. It took her daughter’s own struggles, 30 years later, to converge all her studies and experience together and sort out exactly why the before/after approach to caring for our skin’s specific type doesn’t quite work. She developed an innovative adaptative approach to meet the skin and its microbiota’s changing needs, while aligning with her values of sustainability, healthy and mindful living. She attended McGill University, where she graduated in biochemistry and went on to complete a Ph.D. in Biotechnology where she worked with microbial extracts and fermentation. At the time she felt something was missing to develop skincare that was both natural and effective. She went on to work on the scientific development of nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals. She has also made clinical developments in various therapeutic spaces including skin cancers (melanoma, carcinoma) and inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis. While working in immunology, Dr. Vega noticed that microbiome discoveries were emerging. She began researching and integrating the skin microbiome into her work. To her, this was the missing link in the ecosystem of skincare. Dr. Vega took her scientific experiences, knowledge and passion to create a long thought of brand known as VGAM Biome. #skincare #cosmeticchemist #skinaffirmations #skincareroutine--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/supportSupport the Show.Follow The Show On All Socials Using The Tag @skincareanarchy Hosted on Acast.
