e005 Rebecca Morter: Pushing innovation by giving a voice to emerging businesses

from CONNECTING PEOPLE

Listen to Rebecca Morter, a London-based fashion designer, consultant and entrepreneur.  After leaving her home country New Zealand and studying at London College of Fashion, Rebecca took the plunge and co-founded the experimental womenswear brand REIN London.  Though successful, REIN faced challenges because the old fashion model blocked the vital connection with the end-consumer and the feedback you get with direct contact. Rebecca wanted to bring change for smaller brands incorporating her understanding of design with her passion for sustainable fashion. And so LDC was born, having a positive impact in supporting and empowering others, whilst rebelling against the traditional wholesale route. With LDC, Rebecca wants to ensure that independent designers feel a sense of community and wants customers to explore more than just the product through purposeful storytelling. With over 20 pop-up stores under their belt, LDC is going through a period of huge expansion.
