Sabrina pulls out that as moms we make a lot of excuses as to why we can’t do, X or Y or Z. We have a tendency to harness the negative self-talk. Shayla is breaking barriers and stepping outside of the box as a leader for women. Next, they dive into the intricacies of the “busy” culture. What is it that we are so busy doing? Don't we all have the same 24 hours in a day? Shayla explains that what keeps her in line is being really well planned and organized. She likes to review 18 months ahead for her planning regime. She explains that she and her husband have a date night every Wednesday night. She also shares that she takes every Wednesday off of work, it does not exist in her work world. This helps tame the busy-ness and reset mid-week. She protects this with the support of a great team and family. It is imperative to get your village on board with your scheduling. Shayla dives into how she created The MomBossConnection and explains that it is all about. Success can be defined in so many ways. Her version of success with MomBossConnection was to get like-minded moms together and empower one another. The mamas dive into the stigma around the word “boss” as they have been getting some flack from the masses on this word. Being a boss is not a literal term. It does not mean you are bossy or the boss of people, it means owning your life, being in control of what you do. You are driven, motivated, in the driver’s seat. The mamas dive into the myth that is work/life balance. Shayla uses the analogy of her life as a pie. Her hubby is a piece, her kids are another slice, business, all of it just pieces of a larger pie. With mile-long to-do lists Shayla picks a focused five, she shares the structure of this helpful tool. Multi-tasking is a swear word in Sabrina's house.
