I, like all of the doomsday predictors, don't know what will happen next week not to mention next year. But I am very confident that long term investing will yield positive results. History doesn't always repeat, but the past 100 years show us that even the worst bear market crashes did not yield negative stock market returns if you stay invested long enough. The question is how long is long enough, and how long do you have. I want to show you a few statistics today to ease your mind if you are worried about whats going on in the market today.
